God forbid we have people coming to watch because we have a successful side... I don't have a season ticket this year because I work Sundays & Friday nights at the moment yet have been following the Wire for well over 20 years (from before there was a "Barmy Army" & when there was still a "Zoo"icon_wink.gif, holding season tickets for the majority of that time, and our 14 month old means my partner isn't usually able to go either. Yesterday was the first home game we have been to all season, and we bought tickets for the South Stand. Awfully sorry if I took your spec, but I guess that's glory hunters for you.

| It is difficult to get a great atmosphere when the weather is poor, the opposition is poor and the first half is flat as a pancake.

An excellent point well made. It certainly picked up a bit in the second half when things got a bit more exciting on the pitch

but you know what the club are like, there were rumours of expansion 4 years ago haha'"
It's always been stated by the club the long term aim is to fill in the corners, but so far this season we have had, ooh, 1 lock out? When we are locking out on a regular basis & are averaging over 11,000 for a couple of years that will be the time to launch the expense of filling in the corners. One pot & 2nd in league a third of the way into the season doesn't make us Saints...

i can't say i've heard that, the last talk about expansion was building on the back of the sarf stand putting more corporate seats in, surely they couldn't fill the corners in due to whole point of them in the first place, emergancy access in and out.
Whether they could build over the top of them?

| First couple of seasons in HJ that was the party line - I also had a meeting with Andy Gatcliffe when the issue was raised & he gave me the same answer. The stadium was designed allowing for the corners to be filled, chances are the North East corner wouldn't be due to emergency access but the rest wouldn't be a major problem to overcome.

| Make the East into standing, put seats in the South. Atmosphere will improve. Job done.

| Fill in the corners. Make it all seater. And add another tier on to the south for executive seats similar to the stand at Headingly opposite the away end but all seats.

Lets face it the only way an expansion is going to happen if we are consistently selling out the stadium. So far this season attendances have been good but only 1 game has sold out. If we were to sell out a few more times, that's probably when the directors will make the decision to get thye loan that will be needed for the expansion.

| "Can't you sing without a drum?"
Salford fans, who sang far louder all game without one than I heard our fans sing at any point with one, owning the South Stand.
I don't like to agree with a mob that basically sing Man United songs with a couple of word changes for eighty minutes, but as I absolutely hate the drums and the South Stand in general I'm with them here. I'm not gonna be hypocritical, I rarely sing and that's unlikely to change unless our song book drastically improves and I'm not literate enough to write the improvements. However, the fact that constant posts on here about atmosphere constantly revolve around the position/speed/variation of the drummers prompts me to post. Here's a good idea - ban all drums and other creators of fake atmosphere and just plain sing your heart out. Trust me, it's a winner.

| Funny you say salford fans sang louder than ours...when you was stood at the side of them. Said it loads of times imo the atmosphere relates to the game and team we play. I think the drums are good and if you went to away games you would hear them and the fans singing with them. Keep the drums and ban the boring hypocrits in the west stand who want the drums baning, dont sing but say the atmosphere will be better........I'll stay in the south stand with the drums and the singing leave the west to the ....... away fans
