Unless something has changed in the last 10 days Wardle was 100% a Wigan player for next season.
Stranger things have happened that he may now have turned his back on that deal but Wire would have to pay for it, ie to Wigan.
It does happen. I know of 1 club who have signed a player from his current club and are now offering him back to them as they can secure a better player for a fee of £60k.
I’m 100% confident though that 10 days ago Wardle had agreed terms and signed a pre contract agreement with Wigan. Wardle cannot go back to Hudds due to his relationship with Watson.
Leutele was nailed on for Leigh, with McDonald going to Leeds, not sure if he had signed for Leigh though, maybe you have gone in for him?
Interesting how this all plays out over the next weeks/months.'"
Wardle is not a free agent, so Huddersfield would have to release him from his current contract which doesn`t expire until the end of 2023.
Your post doesn`t mention Huddersfield, so unless they have agreed to give him a free transfer, or sell him to Wigan, his signature on a pre contract agreement to Wigan would be worthless.
If Warrington sign Wardle from Huddersfield for a transfer fee, I can`t see how Wigan could be entitled to a transfer fee too?

Wigan had agreed a deal with the player and paperwork had been signed, presumably pre contract but who knows.
For this to happen Huddersfield must have given permission so were happy for the player and club to talk. Not sure if that involves a fee or an agreement a player may be heading their way or Giants just wanted him off the cap.
Watson and Wardle have had a total break down in relationship over where position and side of the field Wardle was to play going forward. Him signing for Wigan started the chain of events leading to the King swap.

| So at the moment we have one established centre (Mata’utia) for the start of 2023 given Wrench’s injury, Minikin’s status as a back up squad player and uncertainty around Wardle’s availability. Outside backs and an organising half back please!

You can’t ignore the fact you have gone big on forwards for next year.
I’m assuming you will be looking to try move on some contracted Props but the cap is going to be tight particularly as it stands.

It looks to me that Wardle, will be playing for Wire next season.
I have heard that we are trying to secure another halfback for 2023 season, but I still want to give Riley Dean a gig there and if we do sign another halfback, why on earth have we retained Stephan Ratchford for another 2 years?

We had an unbalanced side with not enough grunt to start 2022, and now we have an unbalanced squad with too much grunt at the expense of our centres/wingers. Yes, there's a surplus of forwards, some of which will be moved on as there won't be any first team rugby for them.

| With our forwards for next season ,i think some of them will soon be on first name terms with the disciplinary committee & i would not be surprised if most of the time our squads will be made up of our young forwards. I wait to be convinced that next year will be anything but a shambles.

| I mentioned on another thread a few weeks ago that the comments that Matty Peat came out with when we signed Nicholson were only a day or so after we had agreed the loan / swap with Wardle and King.
At the time it appeared like quite a strong rant about an 18 year old that had played one game. So maybe there was a bit more behind it and we had inadvertently screwed up wigans plans for Wardle
I never had a problem with King when he was here so wish him the best of luck at Wigan.
Some strange parallels here. Didnt Hardaker end up on the outer at Wigan because he didnt want to get the coach back to Wigan after a game in Yorkshire.

| Yes, the stance from Powell and Peet is that the team travels in the team coach, plays the away games and then return as a team on the coach, back to their home ground.
If players choose to live in Yorkshire and travel every day for training, that is their choice but on matchdays they have to adhere to the club`s rules, regarding travelling as a team.

| We’ll be paying lots of King’s wages as well as Cooper’s for now. We’ve probably thrown Wigan a few quid to overturn their signing of Wardle too.
It’s win win all round, we get improvements in both areas with Vaughan and Wardle and we keep money in the game by giving a skint club some money to sign another one of our Academy players.

If King turns his game around and Wigan get him playing well, then we can take him back off them for the remaining 2 years of his contract and thank them for the favour.

| Sooner or later our benefactors are going to get tired of pumping money into the club like this.
Pay for players to go, pay for them to come, pay for them to come, go and stay away.....
Situation is quite ludicrous. (If it's all to be believed)
Another week, another revelation......

| Don’t see how Wigan will make him less plodding and improve him enough to attain below average passing skills.
I do think Wigan are getting over-giddy with their recent improvement. They seem to think they’re the 82 kangaroos and Peet is Wayne Bennett. Huddersfield would rather crowbar Naiqama out of retirement than sign King.

No that's Saints. Haven't they told the Wire fans that? They have let everybody else know how brilliant they are (when they don't have a few injuries of course)
