Excellent news. 2 years on the wing, then start of 2024 he’ll be 22, Mata’utia will be 33, nice time for him to move to the centre.

In the meantime maybe Jack Darbyshire or Jake Thewlis can start to pick up some game time on the wing

We have a very good wing prospect playing in our Academy, so he is a similar age to Darbyshire and Jake Thewlis.

His name is Josh Lynch, watch out for him, very fast but also very tough.

Can't we just drop king and play wrench in the centre(where he belongs), before waiting for matautia to retire?

Ever the optimist, I’m confident King can regain some lost form and go on to be a very good centre for us.

It is only a matter of time before King is moved to 2nd row permanently.

This opens the door for regular starting positions for Wrench and maybe Thewlis?

He had one good game there a few years ago, people have asked for that to happen, he's had 2 or 3 more appearances there and been awful l.

Thewlis has extended until 2027. Apologies if it's already been mentioned on here. Too many pages to read.

He is currently a disaster in both attack and defence at centre.

Against Wigan, on a one to one basis (Not team), he couldn`t handle Iain Thornley of all people.

He was never fast, but now looks ponderous.

But mainly, because of the length of his contract, we have to find him a place, and neither Currie or Holmes are showing anything at 2nd row.

i dont see how that translates into put him in another position so he can be garbage there.

Personally i think its part of the team malaise and whilst he amongst others definitely could do with dropping and a kick up the , we should accept, its not happening, based on what we're hearing from powell, if and when the team starts putting everything together, he'll come good again.
