| I don’t think TS worst was anywhere near SP current.
Until we sign a prop who is ready to go in SL, they’ll be no chance we will be where SP thinks we are

| These days of Price are very similar to the Last Days of Smith. Are they 2 coaches who lost the plot & became or already were failing in their jobs or is there another force from within the club that works against what it doesn't agree with ?

| It would be better for the club in the mid to long term if they grasp the nettle now. But I'm hearing stories that the problem is not just Price (he just hasn't got the skills to resolve it).
1. Prima donna, over paid and under delivering players such as Hill (who I see now is having a go at fans and comparing himself to Caroline Flack in the media)
2. Division in the squad.
3. Discord in the junior setup with Bastion.
It's a right mess.

Price isn't a tenth of the quality of Smith but I am getting a feeling that there are other larger problems within the club.
I wonder who/what overlapped with the last few years of Smith and continues to this day.

| Quote: sally cinnamon "Most likely, the board aren't going to sack Price even if we lose, so save yourself the inner torment.
Wire boards don't tend to take the initiative to remove coaches. The only time I can remember it happening was with Plange.
Cullen and Dorahy resigned. DVDV and TS both agreed with the board to call it a day at the end of the current season - although in DVDVs case he actually quit ahead of the scheduled date when we tried to bring in Neil Kelly while he was still there.
It would have been interesting to see what the board would have done if DVDV and TS had both been keen to stay for another season.'"
Lowes was effectively sacked in 2009. He only lost 3 games on the bounce.

| Well i suppose we have one or two who are still at the club from Smith's days ,rather like Miss Scarlett in the library with the spanner. Thinking back though Smith's descent into disillusionment with the game was very dramatic & you have to wonder ,did he fall or was he pushed ?

Ah yeah I forgot Lowes. It was probably much easier for the board to sack him as he was only ever a caretaker while they looked to replace Cullen.
Also Lowes came across terribly in the media. When we were losing games, he had a smug sarcastic attitude with interviewers and grunted and smirked his way through them.
I can't imagine anyone would have warmed to him, on the board or in the squad.
Much as we have mocked things that TS and Price have said when we've been on a losing run, they've at least fronted up and answered questions after defeats and not seen themselves as being above scrutiny.

The departure of Andy Gatcliffe in 2014.
I don't think either Draper or KF were the right fit.

Draper was no Gatcliffe and Fitzpatrick is no Draper which shows a real decline in calibre at the top of the organisation.

Couldn’t agree with you more. He’s part of the culture that’s been a problem for some time at the club.I though his interview as the captain of the club was appalling in the circumstances. Nothing more than a self pity party.

He was made Captain by Price.
We all know that Hill should never have been appointed captain. He’s doing his best which was never going to be good enough, it’s way too much of a stretch for him.

| Best thing for Hill would be to appoint a new captain and also bring in some more firepower alongside him in the pack. All these shenanigans he gets himself involved in are coming out of frustration. He probably feels the same way as the fans do with the frustration building in him over the years of Grand Final losses and so he's got the same bad temper on the field that lots of fans have on the terraces.
He would probably be a cooler head if he had the attitude of meh, I get paid win or lose so who cares....but I'd rather he had the fire in him for wanting to win. Whilst I think he's not the player he was at his peak (I thought he was even better than Sam Burgess in the 2013 world cup), he's not the reason for our problems so if we put some more around him, took the captaincy off him, he would still be a force.

Agree, just let him be a prop and he would be more effective

| I agree but does Chris Hill strike you as someone who would take it well if you took the captaincy off him? Unrecognisable from the player who was, IMO, the best player on the field in the last WC final.
