| Quote: Psychedelic Casual "He was an organiser yesterday. Calling the plays as we went through the sets, pointing and telling Clark and Patton where to run or who to pass to. Saw the defence out of position and told King the kick was coming for his try before the ruck had finished before it.
Didn’t think he was that type of player, more off-the-cuff, but good to see. We used to have both Briers and MMonaghan doing that at the same time.
But Austin’s first big game for the club (maybe you could argue Magic v Wigan was, when he was also MOTM?) and he really turned up!'"
Blake Austin has had to totally adapt his game to what we need.
He was indeed more of an off-the-cuff runner.
Having BMM on the field does help his game.

| The addition of Ratchford also gave Austin more freedom

Did it really? I thought Wire were good value for the win and look forward to a cracking final, but I'm a little baffled by the Austin love-in after that game.
If one of your wingers doesn't take one of those kicks and Hull nick it, it would have been another hide and seek thread. Didn't think he carried any real threat at all to be honest.
Ifs and buts of course!
Slightly OT but with Widdop coming next year and some of the activity over in Wigan recently, it could be an amazing SL next year.

If danny richardson puts in that performance, sky, bbc, and saints fans would be raving as it being a complete performance.

| 'If that Blake Austin hadn't have played well he'd have played rubbish' - I do wonder about Saints fans. Clearly just watching the game willing Blake Austin to be rubbish and when he wasn't they invent some parallel universe where all his kicks were dropped/went out on the full etc. Wasn't exactly the weather for running/creative rugby but he guided us around very nicely. Not magnificent by any stretch but certainly not hiding which you'd LOVE to believe.

| I think our Stains friends will be busy today thinking who will be their next coach as Mr Holbrook has won the race to be Gold Coast Titans coach next year with Furner and Tony Iro as his assistant's.

Shame if true but he clearly belongs in the NRL and has done a cracking job whilst here. Good luck to him.

| No idea how Blake is but if be amazed if he's back in the next week or two. I just hope it's not to bad.
Ankle injuries can take a long time to heal and it's not like he walked off with a slight limp....

| Probably do him good to have a couple of weeks off. Hopefully he's back firing for the final.

| It's the ideal opportunity for Price to develop some alternative attacking revolving around other players. I just hope it involves passing rather than more kicks.

Absolutely, he's finally getting a rest for once, he deserves it and is long over due. I'm not a fan of Kevin Brown but my god i hope he plays again for us this year.

| Well cometh Livett. This could be the biggest break of his career.
