I'm surprised you haven't put some reality into your concept, 80-0 would be a more factual score.

| Seems to me that Sandow picks his games. Awful kicking last night bar one or two that he chased. He'll be a different player come the 27th August when he wants the Lance Todd and the big cup, mark my words. If he's up for it, it's a totally different side.
Gidley by the same token often reminds me of an old dog whose heart says GO but the legs don't follow. Now and then he provides the magic and we look a different side.
Agree with those saying Sims is all sizzle and no steak, ditch the glamour look and he's a decidedly average prop.
What's the issue with Penny? He's missed in the team, Rhys much better in the centres.
Also agree overall with those saying we weren't far off last night bar mistakes and penalties. Pretty good going against the form team of the comp with only five days' turnaround.

Ok, rockstar look, whatever. He's a nice enough guy but doesn't make enough of an impact.

| Mike Cooper will hopefully make a difference next year, but I hope we are also ensuring we have another prop capable of good yardage. If I am honest though, I very much doubt that will happen.

| I have no problems with Ashton...After all he is the top offloader in Superleague. 23 more than Ben Currie. 2 more errors than Hill

| Quote: Shazbaz "I think we were very unlucky not to win last night. I didn't expect us to play much better than we did after 5 day turn around etc....and Saints won more on luck not skill. A 2 point penalty for a push might not have been given by another ref. Evans try had we not been on sky would have been a winner as it was sent up as one.
There's a curse at HJ when we play Saints, they always get the rub of the green.'"
Washbrook pushes Jewitt, no penalty, different ref, different decision.

| After games this week...I'll call it...
Pies finish top.
Grand Final between one of these: Pies, Saints and slim outsiders at our expense Cas.
Us and Hull...We've been fairly ok throughout the season with injuries, hence the league positions at round 23.
Both Hull and Wire are as good as we get, unless both teams sort out the quarter lines.
Ours being much worse than Hull presently.

| I love listening to Luke Dorn. He knows his stuff.
I love watch Rangi play for Cas.
I hope he stays grounded and things don't go to his head again.

| Quote: WWRLFC78 "Just adding my two penneth!!
I honestly didn't see too much wrong with the game last night, a couple of blades of grass stopped Evans scoring in the last few minutes and had Hilly managed to stretch out a bit further within the first ten mins then his try would have been awarded. I cant remember who, but there was a kick in goal in the first half that bounced around, landed in one of our players hands but was the spilled.......had he held onto it it was another try. We made good ground and had most of the possession and territory against a fresh, in form, saints side. Not bad given our last game was 5 days earlier and theirs was 13 days earlier.
Yes we spilled balls, and the running was off but we could still have won. I'm also not having this Saints are crap thats being spouted around, they are a form team at the mo who scraped a win against a Warrington side who has barely had chance to breathe since their last game.......
Says more about Saints than us I reckon.'"
God bless you WWRLFC78 I didn't get to see the game as there was no Sky available on my jols..I was about to commit harikari or do a Rigsby no not talk complete gibberish like our current Saints visitor, the real Rigsby just leave my clothes on Towyn beach and do one probably start over as Wigan fan yeah they won last night they'll be my choice from now on.
Have faith folks it's not as bad as some think and the over reaction on here is a tad embarrassing...AGAR OUT there you go we've not had that one in a while
Get Penny back in the fold Evans back to centre and Russell isn't a FB, or should I say a good yes he works hard and brings the ball back well but everyone will kick him to bits the guy just can't catch the first prerequisite in any rugby player surely?

I posted that before any of those penalties had happened, I still feel the same he officiated the rook differently for both sides (in terms of when the held call is made) in my opinion and I've seen far too much of that for my liking. Still you won, so you are correct and the officiating was outstanding.

| Quote: Ron "Maybe time for a new coaching team if we don't win the challenge cup or fail again in the playoffs. Tony Smith has had more than enough investment in the playing roster, and the team seems to be going backwards. Yes we finished second in the league, and are in the CC final, but the competition this season has been poor throughout, highlighted by Hull winning the league and getting to the CC final, they aren't a particularly great team in my opinion.
Not sure, just think with the time he has had, he has failed to take us to the next level. Still think once Wigan get a few players back from injury they will have the better team despite having a poor manager, why is that...
Maybe the whole league just gone backwards as others have said and I am expecting too much, I shouldn't expect our backline to be able to execute simple moves near the opposition line.'"
Yes it has including the Saints team which whilst playing much better now is far from top notch. I still think it will be you vs the goons in the GF.

| Quote: ninearches "Last night should have been our best chance for years to beat Saints at home ,but they have improved massively in the last few games since i watched them against Widnes & they certainly came to spoil our party.
Not mentioning the apparent lack of the application of the offside rule to Saints, they really beat us with basic rugby, fast play the ball & players supporting the ball carrier so any player could throw passes with confidence knowing a man was on his shoulder. LMS as a dummy runner for the last try was sublime & Luke Walsh controlled the game with his kicking.
On the other hand, once more we seemed to be throwing wild passes with abandon ,allowing too much ball to go to ground & allowing an opponent to make too much yardage on sets of six. We really need to work on a plan to score tries from close quarters instead of just being good at scoring from 30 yards out.'"
After the match he said he didn't know he was the dummy runner and was cursing Turner for not passing it to him.

| Just watching the saints game, I've been away with work thus week, And just had the opportunity to see the Hughes 'incident' if you can call it that, I was waiting for Bentham to call held, he started but petered out part way through, now If that was a wigan tackle, that gets another five seconds and then someone comes in on the legs AND they then about on the floor.
Tackle wasn't held, was nothing wrong with it. Can't believe they got a penalty. Penalty should have been against scarsbrook
