He used to be 'completely cack.' He's now just 'cack.'
I'd say that's an improvement.

Yes, he is. Played quite well last few games, plenty of go forward last week and a couple of real bone shaking tackles. I don't have a problem with him.

| With Hill, already world class, signing for what should be his prime years. Simms coming next season coupled with our established stars and promising young forwards coming through; all we need is for Asotasi to do a Matt King and 2015 should be mouthwatering. Even without the arrival of Clark but, should that happen, it must make it, on paper, one of the best Warrington forward packs ever.

Well, yes his is. He's been good in our last couple of games. I know stats don't tell the whole story, but some of what has been posted on here about Roy is utter crap.
He's 3rd on our tackle count. (Behind Hill and Higham)
He's 20th on the error count. This surprised me. If you relied on what you read on here, you would think he dropped every ball he takes into contact. He has 5 errors, Chris Hill has 15.
I didn't go tonight, so no idea how he went. I was there on Sunday though, and he had a good game. He put in one monster hit that the Bradford lad struggled to get up from on wobbly legs. He tackled well, and made good yards after impact.
He didn't have the best start to his Warrington career, granted. In the past few weeks though he's held his own.
He's owned up to the fact that he didn't set the world on fire in his first few games. But I've seen enough in the last few weeks to make me think he'll do a job for us. We have a history of a lack of patience when it comes to antipodean players coming to our club. Make a judgement based on the first few games, and then stick by it. I remember most of us being underwhelmed by Waterhouse when he first came over, it took time to appreciate what he brings to the team.
To sum up; Roy didn't have the impact of a Morley at his best on Sunday against Bradford, but he was as good as any other forward on the pitch.
Last thought; get behind the lad, and he may just decide that he wants to go the extra yard for the club, and not stick two fingers up to the fans who are booing him every week. Not that a future Warrington great would ever do that.

| Roy was decent enough again tonight. No errors in very difficult conditions and sound in defence including a big hit to force an error at a key point.

| If I am ever in trouble I will get 1905 to represent me on the strength of his plea in favour of Asotasi.
To compare his error count with that of Chris Hill however is a joke when you consider the relative involvement of the two in the game as a whole.
Remember there are lies, damn lies and statistics.
Statistics are like an old victorian street lamp. Very useful to lean on but they don't throw an awful lot of light on anything.
If you rely totally on stats you will finish up as much an unintelligible buffoon as Colin Clarke
Asotasi is improving but he has a way to go yet to impress me. I hope he does yet.

| I think the problem with Roy is that he was expected to be a lead figure in our team, certainly our pack and has proved not to be one .... so far.
If one is to believe the initial hype surrounding his signing with him being touted as a world class forward of not so long ago and probably being on reasonable bucks he has proved to be a bit of a let down in my view ..... so far

| Give Big Roy his due, he has had a better impact than Morley did when he first arrived.
I don't think Morley lasted 2 spells of 10 mins in his first 6 months?

| I've actually subscribed to Premier Sport to try and catch a few games involving Sims. I'm quite glad I did now, as I am even more convinced he is going to do well for us. Just finished watching yesterdays St.George v Cowboys game, and definitely liked what I saw. For a big man, he ain't half quick off the mark, both in attack and defence, a good safe pair of hands, and taking a backward step does not look like being in his vocabulary. A big plus from me is that any sniff of a biff, and he's there, not rushing in swinging mind you, but certainly not afraid to if need be. Interstingly yesterday he was toe to toe with Mike Cooper, who for my money was the standout forward for St.George. As long as Ashton doesn't leave it all behind before he gets on the plane, the future is bright.
