Quote: Odemwingie "I totally accept it. But if you read my other posts instead of picking ones out... you will see that we didn't need a prop at the time.. Prescott and Coley were still fit and I also accept that I was looking at his time in Leeds rather than the NRL.

Or is it just too radical that I have changed my view on a player?

2 years ago I thought Pryce had a chance at Wigan... now I think he will never make it.

There was a time when wire fans wanted shut of Matt King.... views change.

I was being one-eyed in my view and I looked at the bigger picture and realised he would be a good player for our squad.

Shock horror. The situation has changed since than, therefore so has my view. If we had a fully fit front row... I wouldnt go near him. But we don't.'"

Thing is, had he signed for us or any other SL side today you'd be all over their board saying "why have you signed him? He's done nothing!". But suddenly, as if by magic when he signs for W*gan he's a good player again!

Who'd have thought it eh?

he could bring the kicking tee on....

....hang on, looking at his previous games, he'd probably drop it, and then kick it away in disgust...loser

If not why not.'"

By the looks of things you don't need cover, showed by this post

Take Cross out and there is 8 props there. 3 out injured you still have the choice of 5 with some players who play SR who could probably adapt to playing prop as cover if need be.

SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled. For 27 - 0 you get a trophy For 75 - 0 you get sod all. Wigan had eight in a row Saints have five in a row:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_3076.jpg

You are including Crosby and Davies who are decent players but are not yet at Superleague level. In fact I think Davies may leave, he hasn't progressed as well as we thought he would.

Coley is playing on knees that are as bad as mine (and I'm 62) so the Cross signing was a sensible move as I said all along. Just give him a chance before throwing the daggers.

One thing, Maguire won't pick him because of his past reputation, that isn't the way he works. Cross will have to earn his place, even if he is only filling in to give players a rest.

The games we have struggled this season have been where we have had three props, so the Cross signing does make sense.

It's great that the Wire obsession with Wigan is still alive and well. a014.gif

I mean, this whole a coach signing a player that they know from previous to plug a gap that was problematic at a club due to injuries etc, this is nothing like the Mathers signing that we were pilloried for is it, just so that we're clear.

May I be the first, 'Bloody 'ell Cross !'

They were included by a Wigan fan on your board, so some people obviously think they are ready. I'd have thought that you would welcome players being brought into the starting line up through the academy rather than signing an over the hill Aussie prop.

I'll guarantee that the majority haven't seen Crosby and Davies as much as I have. Cross has been signed as back up.
Maybe Fielden won't play again this season, I honestly don't know. And I don't know how bad Prescotts hamstring is.
The Cross signing was an easy decision particularly as he had already worked with Maguire at Melbourne.

AS I said Maguire WONT just pick Cross on his past reputation, he'll have to prove himself, I can't see a downside, can you?

Would of love to see your reaction if we had signed a 32yo Aussie booted out by a poor Leeds team instead of giving our own youth a chance.

One wonders..
