2 good moves in 80 minutes?... icon_confused.gif

Watch the match again and tell me that you think it was 'pretty good'??.....It was poor stuff in the main, definitely us more than you.

I think the main positive you can take from last night, is that you gained 2 points off a serious rival, whilst performing well within yourselves.

They out enthused us and technically they were better than us in a lot of areas, they certainly had a better kicking game than us and the way they finished their sets too. We didn't build pressure or a game until the last five, ten minutes of the first half. When you give the Giants a start like that and the edge that they had in the momentum, it's hard to draw that back. They are a very good team and deserve to be where they are at the moment. Oooh Hudds are going to win something. Not.

Well drilled, hard working side but are not good enough to win a trophy. No chance.

I'm just interested to know what exactly you are basing this statement on? Not trying to start an argument but am genuinely interested to know.

last night was a brilliant win for us. i thought our forwards was brilliant as it allowed robbo brown and brough to take control. i dont think warrington lacked ideas or played that badly because briers wasnt their i just feel because your forwards was being pushed back and our line speed was brilliant last night. tbf on ur half backs we didnt allow no room and really in the end put to much pressure on ur backs to produce summat special. but if you are saying the reason briers wasnt there to help infulence the game when you needed it then i hope he doesnt get a big injury because you would struggle. but i dont see that the case im not sure many other teams could dominate your forwards like that and have a defence like ours.

have to say i would love to see us 2 clubs at old trafford but if we cant get there i hope you win it

I WENT LAST NIGHT!, Wire showed no imagination in attack & shddersfield eagles took advantage of that, we gave the ball away too easily and defended for most of the match which took it's toll, neither team showed the potential they both have and to be honest i've had more fun picking my toe nails! add to that my brain was not working last night as i set off down the m6, yes the m6! and reached preston before i realised i was on the wrong motorway! to pick out one player for critisism is pathetic, they were all below par, nothing clicked and the game plan sucked. hudershefield giants will be up there at the end and no doubt so will we be as long a mr briers stays match fit. i shudder to think what we're gonna do without him...

Quote: DropGoalGiant "I actually like the Wire and would love for a Giants v Wire Final come end of season. Lets hope both teams keep winning and be fighting it out for top spot at the end of season. See you guys at your place.. where hopefully the Giants can make it 3 wins

I totally agree......Wire is easily my favourite away day and i have never ever had a problem with one single one of their fans, its nice to beat them but i would love to see us and them dominate Super league for years to come !!

The Giants did exactly the same to us last night as on the opening day fixture at MM - they blasted us in the tackle area, simple as that.

Additionally, they had a set of half-backs ............ which we didn't have.

Myler needs to start getting the message that he is a No7 and that it is up to him to shape what happens around him. Fine, he's solid in defence but when we have the ball he's hardly a "go to" man is he?

I also think that we have guys in shirts who are filling in in positions as opposed to playing in there chosen position. Matty Blythe is never a centre and Bridge (to me) is another of those "fill-in" type players around stand-off/centre/full back but not exceptional in any of them. Our game plan seems to consist of getting ourselves close enough to their line so that we can put the ball in the air for Joel to do something with it ............. last night I don't think he got the ball in open play. He's our stand out player so move him into the centres so he gets the ball more.

Also, the amount of dull off-loads last night had me looking around the pitch to see if Wedge was back in a Wire shirt.

All in all, we were done again by the same team doing the same thing twice now and they were well worth their win.

To be fair, TS isn't likely to come out with 'We were $h!te, they were a bit better', is he??

Like I have said before, you deserved your win, but also as I have said before, I'm glad we wasn't against a top side playing at the top of their game, because with our performance, it would have been a thrashing.

Almost 24 hours later, my main emotion is one of relief that our points difference didn't take a massive battering.

My view.

Forwards were battered. Moz, Carvell, Monas, Westwood, Anderson & Harrison. That's our 1st choice pack yeah? They lost the battle in the middle and our backs were ineffective because of it. Briers would have made no difference and moaning about Myler, Clarke, Evans (even though his positioning was schoolboy at times, oh hang on....) or anybody else is pointless. Scott Grix charging down field with 3 of our forwards hanging off him summed the game up for me. Miles more enthusiasm hence the 2 points. I've just finished watching Hull KR beat Leeds. Had we been at CP today playing like we did last night, we'd have dropped another 2. Clubs like Huddersfield and Hull KR (No criticism intended) [ihave[/i to more determined than their opponents in order to win. That was 90% of the reason that we lost last night.

Nowhere near good enough Warrington. Nowhere near.

Good post.....I think I posted during the game (at the beginning of this thread) something similar, that we were being out-enthused.

We looked very lethargic and you have to wonder how much we have left behind at the DW stadium....From both ours and Wigan's last 2 games, it certainly looks like that particular big game has drained a hell of a lot from both sides.

Perhaps we are looking back at the days when we would return from one of our brave Knowsley Road defeats and then suffer some huge hangover lasting a month or so?.....Are we about to experience something similar after the high of the Wigan triumph?

Yeah maybe. I can't though remember Leeds and Saints suffering from the same issue in recent years. Maybe this is one of the skills needed to be at, and stay at the top.
