Just heard on the radio Reardon has got a suspended sentence and Pryce has got community service.

I, like almost everyone here, know very little about the details of the case, so can't really comment on the severity or otherwise of the sentences.

However, I am surprised that someone with previous for violence has escaped a custodial or suspended sentence!

I too cant believe that Pryce has escaped a custodial sentence.

C'mon, he only pushed someone who bumped their head on a pedal bin.

Its not the act itself, which was minor, its the intent and also the lad has plenty of form.

Still waiting on saints to announce where they stand on the matter.

Do they condone senseless violence?

Its only because he plays for Saints that people are saying he should get a custodial sentence.

With prisons already overcrowded, it would be senseless to incarcerate someone for such a minor offence.

don't think the outcome of putting pryce in prison would be better than making him do the community service...that's what the judges have to consider isn't it?

i could see him going to prison, losing his rugby career and, since he's probably got no other qualifications, coming out twice as difficult to control

criminals must be punished, Britain is in a sorry state because people are let off with fines, painting fences etc etc or sent to prisons with playstations and Sky TV.

prisons need to be a place that people fear or people will continue to break the law whether it be GBH, Robbing or Murder

now whether what Stuart & Leon did deserves prison is up to a judge not me but i'm sure that despite his lucky escape for the glassing incident, the fear of prison does not seem to bother Mr Pryce as he knows he will either get off with it like he did this time or he is not worried about a bit of bird

what also gets me is that apparently the judge told them a few weeks back to expect a custodial sentence but Leon ends up with fence painting and picking up litter and Stuart has to be a good boy for 3 months plus the same.

Why did the judge not send them down like he said he would

To be fair, Reardon has got a custoidal sentence, it's just suspended that's all.

Whether the sentence is correct or not, remember that, at this moment in time Stuart Reardon has not job and is a convicted criminal. I'm sure he's related to avoid prison but his life is hardly a bed of roses.
