| Think I said it yesterday on the Mamo thread - unless we have a major signing lined up as a replacement, or we get very lucky with a low profile signing, similar to how Hill himself was, then this is a going to be a far bigger blow than what losing Mamo (or most of our squad) will, or would be.
His absence on the pitch is always obvious with how our intensity & momentum drops off - Don't know about others on here, but I feel a lot more comfortable with our side when I see Hill on the pitch. Will be a big miss when he's gone.

| Tough business type decisions finally look like being taken at Wire, the type that kept Wigan for the last 4 decades and in wendy ball terms, what Sir Alex did at Utd, at the top of the game. Most required, some unpopular....but completely successful.
But that is the difference between being champions and being Wire.
Wire has been more of a mates love in, than a business.
One more year for Hill is a greater risk than this season, 2 seasons increase that risk by a high factor.
I think the 1 year alleged on offer has some bend via loyalty, we wouldn’t be offering a deal to anyone else his age outside our club, and positively not 2.
Times are changing. I don’t care Hill lovers, Mamo lovers, Austin Lovers, Lineham lovers...Patton lovers!
My club comes first and not since exactly 50 years ago, has Wire ever been on the threshold of a potential shake up on a scale that just might see us emulate and surpass the half decade that followed it.
Have it.

| Our record of NRL props signings has been poor, perhaps a returnee from NRL might be the way forward (would have the added spice of driving the “entertainers” doolally!

| Quote easyWire="easyWire"This will be the biggest shake-up we’ve had for many years. Austin and Widdop won’t be here next year, Lineham and Mamo gone. Hill gone. J Clark and Inglis retired. In a way it might just be what this club needed.
Now the pressure is off a lot of these players, and the coach, maybe we really can push on and have a real dig at the playoffs. We don’t look clinical or composed enough just yet, but maybe we’ll improve week on week.'"
Some fool on twitter is having a pop at us wasting money on inglis, rather than using it to sign mamo and Jason Clark for next year.
Theres a couple of things id like to say to that, but I'll be the bigger person

Hope it's not Joe Bullock. He could prove to be a great 3rd/4th prop but we need something better as a starter.

I'd happily make him a marquee just to see their heads fall off. Would be priceless.

My first reaction, James Graham, had me in a momentary cold sweat. Who's the prop from Saints who's currently down under that we've all forgotten about?

| Bullock is a good replacement for Sita, a shocking replacement for Hill.

| I don’t know if Thompson wants to come back (I’ve not heard such a rumour) but if he did Saints must surely have first refusal? And then there’s also the issue of whether he’d be demanding more money than he’s worth, which is fine if you’re a George Williams as there aren’t many decent half-backs around, but there are plenty of decent props.

This. 100%
I think butler needs some game time to see what he's got in the locker but we need to sign another IMO.
