| We'll never know how much input Henderson and Briers put into the tactics/playing style with Wire. It does seem that the way were playing is greatly at odds with how Henderson had London playing prior to his departure to Warrington. Also, Smith always said that he didn't coach the attack and left that to the players. You'd have thought that Briers would have had a say in how we attacked, but he also had M Monaghan, Hodgson, and (for a considerable amount of time) a big dominating pack in front of him. I'd be surprised if those two hadn't voiced their concerns on our playing style to Price, at some point over the past couple of years, but maybe they just ran with whatever Price wanted. Henderson looked like a SL coach in the making while at London, and must be a little disappointed not to get the head coaches job with us. Good look to him with the future, as I believe he has a lot to offer, at least, in the higher end of the Chasmpionship, if not SL. Not sure what Briers has to offer, as he doesn't have a track record as a head coach, and can only see him as an assistant, or other capacity, going forward. All second guessing, and it will be interesting to see who is appointed as Powell's assistant and other backroom staff.

| I was very impressed with what I saw of Henderson whilst at London and if anyone ought to know a bit about attacking rugby it ought to be Briers (having watched him play for years). I know a coach (very well) who coached one team to be a wonderfully attacking side but who struggled to replicate the same skills at his next club. It's not quite as easy as it looks.
I just hope Powell makes a good start.

| League Express today with a 'we understand' quote that Henderson and Briersy have been told that their services will not be required from the end of the season. No surprise but if so, that indicates that the club and DP intend big changes next year.

| It has to be Powells choice of backroom staff IMO, that's of course if current coaching staff are willing to stay on as well. I think Hendo deserves a shot at superleague club for what he did at London, ideally we would be giving him the rest of this season to build his cv a little.

| Andrew Henderson is an intelligent , forward thinking coach who plays a positive brand of rugby. . That brand was the primary reason we brought him to the club. He is an Assistant coach and regrettably has had little or no input in how we play because Price dictates that and refuses to listen to anything or anybody else. It’s like the infrastructure of any business, the main man can’t be undermined by his assistant otherwise he goes first.
I’ve been in the company of Andrew Henderson on a number of occasions, speaks well about the club, never bites the hand that feeds him even though you can feel his frustration. Absolute class act of a man and loyal to the task.
Good luck to him and I for one hope he gets a job to allow him to shine.
I think he’d of done e a great job at Salford and if I was Leigh, I’d be sniffing

Deserves better than Leigh because they will I feel definitely go down. As previously mentioned I hopes he gets the Castleford job.

| Always been impressed when seeing / hearing Hendo interviewed. Thought Powell might keep him on. My frustration with Briers is I don't really understand what he does and thus cannot say one way or another

| I think we're judging based off what they have done previously, Henderson was a coach I was pleased we brought in, as he had his London team playing some good stuff. Conversely Richard Agar had been sacked from Hull FC & Wakey and you couldn't find many fans that had a good word to say about him, so that impression was carried over to us.
Truth is, we don't really know what assistant coaches do day to day, and we don't know what influence they are having in the backroom, Henderson went from a head coach to an assistant, Agar went from Assistant to head coach of Leeds and a challenge cup winners medal - he can't be that bad?

I was about to say the same thing.
Yes Henderson comes across as a decent bloke but lets remember he and Briers are there every day in training, they are the ones coaching the players, instructing them what to do, relaying information and discussing tactics. They are also part of the problem.
