| If we end out of the 5 that surely will cause the board to act and to eject Price early. Better than watching us be poor next year and slow death.

I think appointing Holbrook with a few games left of 2017 really let saints hit the ground running for 2018 and they have been great since.

They very nearly made the GF in 2017 a few months into his appointment. Did they lose by 1 point to Castleford I think in the semi.
I don't think appointing Price any earlier in 2017 would have made any difference to our current predicament.

| We didn't need to appoint Price early, we got the "new coach bounce" under Tony Smith, when we won 7 out of 7 at the business end of the season.
If that had happened under a new coach, the legend would have grown that they "saved us from relegation" and that would have been counted as credit in the bank for them.

You're probably right, I think they just got the better coach. It's so dissapointing because last season I felt we were definitely heading in the right direction and getting to both finals was a great achievement. I know we have a chance of doing the same again but it just feels like we have gone backwards at an alarming rate this season. Our attack absolutely stinks.

| Apologies if my math is wrong, but by my working out Warrington could end the next round of fixtures in 5th place.
Should Salford beat you by 24+, Wigan and Hull win you'll drop to 5th.
Should Cas and Catalans both win too only points difference will separate you and Cas and only 2 points separate you and Catalans.
I realize you've got bigger fish to fry this week but this is a top 5 thread.

Salford would have to beat us by 47, which is possible. For us to go 5th. 4th position looks the best bet.

The difference between our points difference is 46.
A 24 point margin of victory for Salford would result in a 48 point swing in the points difference.

| In 2017 i think it is possible that we won every game in the relegation zone because the other teams were worse than us.
I wondered then & wonder the same now ,is there an attitude among the players that they will turn up & play when it suits them ?

| I understand what you mean 9A, and have had the same thoughts myself.
That's a fundamental professionalism and attitude problem - and maybe that's where we are.
But I really struggle to think that any player would not want to give 100% every time they play (only possible exception is before a 'final' - but it's not as if we dont need a win to get out of this slump).
And honestly speaking I give us a near zero chance at the weekend - espcially as even if Ratch and Austin play I don't think they will be 100%, and the Wembley turf always finds injured players out.
