| Disappointed with display tonight. My biggest gripe is why wasn't ratchford kicking for the confers ions. Or Gidley , I know he's carry a strain but what the difference in kicking in play ????

It still is and will be a crap saints team but they're kicking was superb and our defence was dreadful. A fully fit Gidley and we win that game because of goal kicking.
Despite my last post at least we showed a bit of fight at the end but too little too late.
Think Smith got the bench wrong tonight and the lack of props on the bench meant we didn't get a boost off the bench going forward or in defence.
Lineham should be given a rest after that performance. Russell was poor too but both can be excused somewhat as there were some good kicks put in under no pressure (when did we stop charging kicks down...).

| Stains just about deserved it. We did bugger all for the best part of half an hour, when Stains were in the ascendancy.
The Penny haters will have to retreat under their rocks.
Goal kicking issues reminding me of the season before we bought Davies.
Great from Currie.

| The probl with us is we look to offload rather than run with the ball. Sandow always runs at the defence. We had to wait until the last 7 mins to see us start running at them instead of hot potatoing.

Smith has just said on Sky Gidley is rusty with kicking and still carrying a knock and if he practices kicking in the week, he wouldn't be playing! Nothing said about why Ratch wasn't though.

| Cue the fan exodus and player bashing
My turn, Common denominator from this and the Hull match is Tom Lineham was exposed and was really vulnerable getting turned around
Russell was really poor defensively and was sat in the crowd when those high bombs were reigning down
Worst period of the match was when Clarke went off, lost impetuous and control with too many players being shuffled about and letting Saints dominate
Dust ourselves down and maybe rest one or two for the next match (Lineham please)

| No scape goats please. We didn't want it enough after going 10-0 up and got casual. Go 10-0 down and different story.

| No excuses for that. Should have beaten them. Our kicking is becoming an issue and it needs to be rectified. If we don't miss those kicks then we win, simple as that. Missed 3 of 4 attempts there and even with us being off the pace for some reason, it was still there for us to win. Gave it a good crack to come back in the last 5 minutes but we shouldn't have needed to. Currie and Atkins were great and the standouts. Gidley had a good game. Russell wasn't his best, he was very erratic in terms of quality of play. Lineham needs to buck up his ideas, he's a good player but he's got a head full of air, he isn't wired into what's going on at all.

im sorry, ive seen nothing at all to suggest he is a good player... diving into the corner a few times when he is already in doesnt show me he is a good player.
he cant break a tackle, catch a high ball, catch a pass when he is on the try line... and those 3 criticisms are from the last 2 weeks alone.
i think he is my new scapegoat.
