| Well maybe his signing is a bit of a dud.
We all make mistakes.
In my job as a professional I've hired some very very good guys, but also hired one that I had to get rid of after 6 months. There's not so much difference between that and Wire making a dud signing - although perhaps they can spent more time looking at their potential signings.
But - as has been said before - even if he's past it I do expect effort and desire. There's no excsue for not having that.
Looking forward I just hope all our returnees get up to speed quickly - then it will be very interesting to see if big Roy gets in the 17.
TS will go up in my estimation if he leaves him out.
Hill, England, Wood and Evans are our top 4 props.
And I'd have Harrison up there before Roy.
Roy's at the same level as Philbin and possibly Riley - but they can do more minutes.
I wonder if Roy can look in the mirror and say I've earned my money after many matches this year?

| Agree he's been gash for you so far and having watched NRL games last couple of years on Premier, I was surprised when you signed him as he was finished is his last NRL season and thought he was just a 'big name' signing on reputation given you'd lost Morley and Carvell.... But is he any worse in his first season in England than Matt King was and he ended up more than OK for you and yet I recall after his first months many of you were offering to pay his plane fare home

| Some people are comparing Kings first season with Asofarty's so far and the difference between the 2 is that King was actually trying, you could see he wanted to do well. The only thing that Royston is first to, genuinely, is the water after we've scored a try, over there like a shot.

| Paul Wood looked more off the pace than Roy. Poor decision by TS to play him at loose and to leave Harrison out who has been terrific of late.

| I think Ben was left out because of the pitch and potential issues with knees, but I agree that Wood is no loose forward.
King in his first season was suffering from a lack of confidence and the team playing poorly given the names we had.
Roys case is not the same.

| When his signing was announced last year I watch the next game he played in for Souths. He got pulled after 13 minutes having made two drives and one tackle. Every time I watched him after that it was the same story. Unfortunately that "form" has been brought over here! I decided to give him time to settle but with the season 2/3rds gone he appears to look bereft off upping his work rate. Question is will he be here next year?

| Question is Big D who had carte blanche to sign a player that was over the hill ? It is no good blaming Roy Asotase ,the club are supposed to have a scouting & management system in place that will bring the most suitable players to the club.
I don't suppose Roy is over the moon that his best years may be behind him but he still has a family to feed & the Wire are his meal ticket for the next couple of years.

| I don't know why people compare Little Roy Asotasi and Matt King, assuming he will come good next year.
King went to England in his 20's and at his peak, Asotasi is 32 and at least 5 years past his best

He has, along with a number of other players, signed up for a 2yr college course. So I think the answer is, yes.

Big Roy hasn't been the same player since the bad injury he got in 2010. Before then he was a renowned enforcer, the Kiwi and Souths captain, a star player; over the three years in the NRL since then he gradually became an impact player, then a squad player, then a bit of a nothing player...then we signed him. It was poor scouting by Wire.
At least with King we knew he was a good player when we signed him, not four years ago. He was only 27 when we signed him too so in his prime, poor form at that age is usually temporary. Poor form at 32 after three previous years of not showing any sort of good form, doesn't end with good form.
