I would not say the RFL is in an appalling state, but change is always a good thing.
I have not been too impressed with Brian Barwick though. A man who has held positions such as Sports Chief at ITV, Head of TV Sport at the BBC and Chief Executive of the Football Association, I would have thought with his contacts he would have had a few ideas up his sleeve, but yet in the hierarchy of the RFL, all he possesses is a non executive position as chairman, and it's Nigel Wood as CEO that has all the power.
