Good news for Ryan Bailey though - he must be a shoe in for the squad now.

The rumours are that there were three other players involved. If that's the case they should all be treated the same and the players who performed well for the England Knights on Saturday brought in to replace them.

All I can hope from this affair is that somehow McNamara can create a "siege mentality" in the squad and the performance and results benefit from this - afraid I can't see it though.

Reports now suggest that he failed to report at Loughborough when the squad got back together. I wish this time the truth was reported and exactly what Hock has done is released so everybody can see what an idiot he is. We had enough of the "Saint Gareth" stories from his two year ban period which if the press coming from his club was to be believed he apparently spent helping old ladies cross the road and bob-a-jobbing with the local boy scouts.

The guy's an idiot and the last thing he deserves is somebody like Koucash once again making excuses for unacceptable behaviour.


This time last week things were actually for once looking positive for the game of rugby league. Unfortunately firstly in the performance against Italy and now this sorry incident (which does seem to involve Hardaker, Graham and Hock's old partner in crime from his Wigan days, McIlorum) the players themselves have let the supporters and administrators down big time.

Unless they are from Wigan.

There may be some parallels between Hock & Newton, so I suppose you could argue we should take a pragmatic view. However, it seems to me that whatever anger, injustice, fear or sadness Terry Newton felt about the world he took out on himself, sadly to the ultimate conclusion. Hock, on the other hand, appears to be at war with the world and whatever issues he has, and he clearly has many, he takes out on those around him. The Harrison incident alone is evidence of this.

One of the suspects played for the Knights on Saturday , pretty close to MoM by all accounts .

For what it's worth I think this is a bit harsh on Hock considering the others aren't being kicked out. The only difference between him and the others was he missed a 10 minute swimming session because he overslept.

What about those who can't swim ? Have they been sent home too ?
