Discussing club call before we have even played Leeds seems bizarre to me, presumably it will be what seats you prefer at Old Trafford next ?

And we are now essentially in a knock out competition, probably all the top 6 could win their match on the day. It only needs a bad injury on the day, a couple of poor reffing decisions, an interception try, freak weather etc etc to upset the odds. Lets just hope we can beat Leeds and don't suffer any injuries, that's as far as we should be thinking.

Cudjoe collects the pass last night and it's 14-14, and Huddersfield with tails up for the last 1/4 of the game ....... same as Bridge's kick in the CC semi - 5 yards more OR less weight and it's a simple catch & try, and bye bye Hull. Didn't work out that way. But that's how tight most games are these days.

I don't know if it escaped you deckchair but the whole concept is a "blinder of an idea" all I've suggested is a few more turns on the elastic band!

This is the first year when Clubcall could potentially mean anything now because us or Leeds will have it and the League Leaders are a team with a poor play off record. I think based on recent record Leeds would probably choose us anyway, but our initial reaction if we have the call and Leeds and Huddersfield are the options would be to choose Huddersfield. That would be a massively controversial thing to do though.

As I said the other day, doing that would really fire Huddersfield up because they would basically feel disrespected. In essence we'd be saying we think they're an easier team to beat than one who finished two places below them and whom we had actually beat a fortnight earlier to be in that position in the first place. That's Paul Anderson's team talk written for him! We'd also be giving a Leeds a psychological edge over us by suggesting we're scared of them which could make things harder for us if we end up meeting the following week at Old Trafford. It's a very risky decision.

Personally I don't see us doing that, so regardless of who wins tomorrow the only way I see us not playing Leeds in week three is if one of us or Huddersfield lose in week two making a team from positions 5-8 the lowest ranked option. If we do lose it's likely Saints at home and Leeds away will be our route to the final though, and our record in both those fixtures is shocking. Dismiss Saints all you want, but even now the hoodoo is over they've still won the last three games between us at the HJ! Leeds away simply speaks for itself. Tomorrow is massive now in my book.

we've seen as last year that we doubled up on saints losing 1st week at home winning the 2nd away.
It doesn't necessary follow that we can win Leeds twice back to back either.

I say pick hudds if its our call and at least have a firm chance of getting into the final.
Rather be a loser in a final than not getting there at all.

You can argue that whoever you pick thats their team talk done.

Win tomorrow and I wouldnt fear anyone apart from the wounded Champions because their record speaks for itself

Is there an argument, as in Huddersfield giants case, that they are now the lowest ranking team of the top for after losing against 4th...?
