Quote the flying biscuit="the flying biscuit"So what has changed at Wigan then to allow them to sell to us....?
he's still registered to Wigan, Parramatta have paid Wigan Nothing. If he renages on his Eels deal then he is still a wigan player they wont sell him to us ...a no story by the looks of it.......
but why they would then sell to the mighty Salford who are going to win things next year with Sonny Bill down at Barton I dont know?'"
It is an interesting question to ask where he is going.
We hear that he gave up Oz because his partner is having a baby, so presumably he will not be going to another Oz club. And he will cost around £150-200,000 from what we are led to believe. How many clubs can afford that ? Leeds could pay it, but Hetherington has short hands and deep pockets. Hull spent last year, but don't seem up for it this. Unless I have missed someone, that only leaves Mr Koukash and Simon Moran. We have perhaps spent £30-40,000 on England, but I think we have also bought the golfer and lent him back for next year. Presumably that was quite expensive- £150,000 ? So we may not have the cash for this sort of deal, even if Harrison was looking forward to packing down with Hock. Yes, the club could save a bit of money by getting him to do the 'addictive substance' talks to the U16's and U19's next year, and TS would have been delighted at the team spirit that Hock would have engendered, but I suspect we do not have the cash.
So that might only leave Salford to make a bid. Or, Wigan may have a new coach next year and decide to keep him. Or they might loan him out for another year.
Or, all the above is a load of bollox and we have already signed him to plug our BR gap, where we only have Trent, Bennie, Ben, Currie, Laithwaite, Bridge and Grix to make do with for next year.
