Quote Winslade's Offload="Winslade's Offload"You always get the one or two oddballs ! I made the mistake of sitting in the middle of the Widnes fans at the last SL game this year (don't ask), the vast majority of which were fine apart from one very strange guy whom even the Widnes fans were disowning. Anyway, I was wondering for areas such as Chapelford, whether the club ever gives out 50% off tickets as a promotional offer (or something similar). If they could be enticed into the ground for a couple of matches, who knows, they could get hooked. Presumably Mr Moran has had input into these sort of ideas though as his company is all about marketing and selling.
I see Hull have just gone past 7,000 season tickets (aiming for 10,000) and Wakefield 4,000. I wonder how we are getting on.'"
I have been very impressed with the 'membership' thing Hull, Cas and Wakey have been doing, which I think has been inspired by clubs like Canterbury who have successful membership schemes. Hull are holding a prize draw every time they sell 1,000 season tickets, and as well as their season pass fans get a keyring (a bit like a Tesco clubcard) which can be used to get discount in various shops and restaurants etc.
Cas have put together a pretty impressive members package, details here for those interested. www.castigers.com/members/Pageflip/index.html
I would like to see us move towards something like this in 2014, and maybe move to having a card instead of a book.

Many of the things these memberships offer overlap the kind of things we at the Supporters Trust offer. We already offer an impressive list of benefits to our fans and two membership levels, see here:
www.squadbuilder.co.uk/newsstory.asp?news_id=252
We think the club already do well with season ticket selling, we are there to provide the extra level of fan belonging whilst also helping raise funds for youth development and providing the independent voice for the fans.

Good point, I would encourage people to join the Supporters Trust if they can afford to do so. There have been some great events this year and the newsletters are always an enjoyable and informative read which let you see a different side to the club.

There's lots of Promotions ran by SJM (and others), that lose plenty of money

My preference would be a second tier on the north stand

If the club took a more expansive marketing policy I think we could sell out every game. I don't mean the usual cheap tickets I mean market the club to the whole of Cheshire as 'Cheshire's premier rugby league club' by what ever means they can.

| We could win the next 10 CC's and GF's and LLS's and WCC's and we'd only need 18k absolute max, can't see us ever getting more than that on a regular basis.

Have to agree with Wire in Ashton.
Yours is a very laudable thought, but, since the first two corners have been filled in, there just doesn't seem to be that much strain on the capacity, hence no real pay back ...for now and I accept your comment that with marketing etc.
It was noticeable that prior to this that the South was 'selling out' and as a 'pay on the day not a true fan' ha ha I was ending up in the West. Maybe this was a tactic to persuade home fans to even out our support rather than a yellow lines issue particularly if there is a noticeable fall in away support for all but the big games?
If there is demand as previously stated for more corporate and it is a real money spinner, then that is where the initial effort should be put in.
