It must be really hard for you living amongst all us 'knuckle draggers.''"
Really? Where do you get that from? I'm not in on the 'Wire are cheating the cap' stuff at all and the only comment I remember making is that some of your fans lack class, which those boasting on that thread about your impending GF win certainly were.

| Quote: Dropkick Murphy "I think the "Yorkshire people support Yorkshire teams" attitude is less prevalent in the RL region previously known as Lancashire.
If Wigan or Saints were playing each other in a final I wouldn't care who won, but if either of them were playing anyone else I would want anyone else to win. I'm discounting other "Lancashire" teams because they haven't been in finals in the time I've been into the sport. If pushed I'd want a Yorkshire team to beat Widnes but would want Widnes to beat Wigan or Saints in a "support the underdog" kinda way. I couldn't care less about the likes of Salford and Leigh.
Lots of Yorkshire people do support other Yorkshire teams in finals though, and I get the impression lots of older "Lancashire" people reciprocate, but it's irrelevant to me.'"
I agree with you DM (blimey).
As an older Warrington/Lancs correspondent, my 'red rose support' even if it is Wigan v a Yorkshire team is now out of the window and I would favour the underdog.
I could support Saints v Yorkshire, but, would not support Widnes, or Wigan against anyone, under any circumstances. If they played each other then I'd hope the both lost.

Attendance 76,560
Leeds Rhinos 6-30 Warrington Wolves
Attendance 85,217
Wigan Warriors 28–18 Leeds Rhinos

Let’s face it even if it’s as low as the Huddersfield game, there's well enough people to create the required atmosphere.

really surprised that wigan leeds had less than wire leeds considering that they are 2 of the biggest teams in super league

| Simon Moran states on the back of the warrington gaurdian that we are about 2 to 3000 down on the previous final sales , so imo still looking good if you consider how many have been purchased from the rfl

The novelty of going to Wembly has probably worn off for alot of Wire fans.

| Sat around a coachload of Bradford fans last year, with Hull fans nearby. Maybe 30% of them cheering for the Yorkshire team and 70% against Leeds...
That was against Wigan though. Wire would probably have had 90% support.

| My sister is a part time fan, who has been to the last two, but is not going this time, money is a bit tight. My brother and his wife are also part timers and are both going again. My daughter and wife will be attending their first match of the season. We may be a bit down this year as the recession may affect the part timers (who are more than welcome in my book).

| As long as the part timers aren't like the kids who p*ss about in the south and spend all their time on the phones not watching the game, then anyone is welcome in my eyes.

| It happens to all teams with regards casual fans. This is our third trip to Wembley in four years and Leeds' third in three years.
For a lot of part timers the thrill of Wembley won't be the same and if money is tight or they've got other things to do, they will be less inclined to go than they were previously.
It's the same with all clubs. A few years ago I asked a Saints "fan" if they were going to Wembley and their response was, "No we went there last year so we're gonna go the Grand Final this year instead".
They just assumed they were gonna get to the Grand Final, and to be fair they did!
If we do get to Old Trafford there will be a fresh novelty factor amongst Warringtonians and we'll take a bigger support there, but Wire at Wembley is now "been there, done that" for a lot of less passionate types I think.

| Leeds situation is slightly different perhaps in the sense that after so many Challenge Cup Final defeats since they last won it in '99 - a period during which they have won every other trophy multiple times - many won't want to miss the one they finally win.
Similar story to us taking thousands to our last few games at Knowsley Road with no one wanting to miss "the one".
As it turned out, we never did win at Knowsley Road in the Super League era, and hopefully Leeds won't be breaking their own "hoodoo" next Saturday.

| You never know when your last final may be, unless you really can't make it i can't see the attitude of 'well i'll go the next one'

That's because you're interested in Wire all the time rather than just final time, and I imagine everyone else who posts on here is as well.
Plenty of people aren't though, as Wembley "support" which was more than double our average home attendance has proved more than once already.
If they don't have the same passion then they probably won't have the same "it's absolutely unmissable" attitude either.

| 2010 was a family day out for us. In 2009 and 2012 both myself and our eldest daughter will be attending. My wife and youngest wanted to do the 2010 final for the experience but they are not what some might call proper supporters. I was there in 1990 and then came home and watched the replay. I was so miffed at the fact that the commentators were so bad (even comments like "Wigan are beginning to celebrate" when in fact it was the Wire you could hear) that I said there and then, "If Warrington go, I'm going. If not, I dont care"
