I think the OP meant in general i.e career, attributes as a player etc. Hodgson and O'Loughlin have proved throughout their careers what quality they possess as a player.

I don't get this Myler bagging. I think over the ourse of last season his combined tries & assist per game ratio was far better than both Tomkins and Eastmond. I'm aware he isn't as good as them and more than likely never will be, but he isn't as bad as people make out.

Okay then. There aren't many overrated players over a career. Just people who have been brought in and under perform for a club. Richie Mathers being the prime example. He was great for Wire and phenomenal for Leeds but couldn't have been worse Wigan.

Overrated player at the moment Kyle Eastmond. Many said he was better than Sam and look at the two of them now.

Many say Wilkin and Meli are overrated I don't see it. Meli is weak in defence but if anything underrated in attack. Wilkin has had a couple of tough years but still has all the skills in the locker.

If Wilkin was in Salford's team he'd look like Tim Jonkers. I think the same goes for Gardner, I'd have scored ten outside of Gidley.

Kevin Sinfield. Great organiser, but there are far many better players, yet the media can't sing his praises highly enough

I think he means that much to a team in terms of motivation and an influence in a dressing room that it cause people to have an inflated opinion of him. Pressure player supreme.

Gardner can go on the list. I think he will improve under Rolls Royce but I don't think he is good enough for Saints. Maybe they need to produce some out and out wingers (if they have i am drawing a blank) they seem to only focus on 6 + 7s now. Funny really.

I am baffled as to how people can miss the skills that Wilkin has got.

He was the best 13 last week. By all accounts he was great against Salford. Try and find the highlights on the SL website for the Grand final and watch Dixon's try. Wilkin sucks in the defence and then lays the ball perfectly to him. He had a phenomenal year in 2006 and has tepered off a bit. He still shows great signs of brilliance though.

Of course i don't watch him week in and week out but when i see him I am usually impressed.

I take a punt and have him at Wire.

I think Wilkin is seriously overrated. Just don't get why some people think he's good.

Last year, the most overrated player was Feka. The fact he even got 1 appearance given his physical fitness is appalling, you'd be lucky if he got 1 big hit in and he was a fans fave. Bizarre.

I'd agree with Feka. I watched the first half of the Salford match in Cardiff last week in a bar before going back into the stadium. the commentary team were raving about him, but he just seems to make a couple of drives and then call it a day. He looks very unfit and those shorts must cost a fortune.
