| I agree with rovers.. our stewards were a joke and just stood still doing nothing whilst ale was being flung about. At one point the ale went over a steward and you could clearly see him uttering something best not said before 9pm ( although i must admit that was quite funny). rovers does have a point though.. as i was walking out at the end you could see our stewards stood in a line at the bottom of the south stand to split the fans up, one was stood there like he was ready to brawl smashing his fist into his hand.
Im not to botherd about abit ale filnging and banter with the other teams fans but it has to be said that our stewards are a joke and myself i laugh at them.

Dont know why anyone wants to pay £3 a pint then sling it, as for the stewards thinking there 10 men, if it had of kicked off with them yesterday and it nearly did several times theres was only going to be 1 winner and it wasnt them

Come on fella, as much as I have a soft spot for the Colliers, I wouldn't describe your support as being that.
Plus some of your fans looked like they were going to kick off with the stewards. The big fat one with a rosette on the back of his flat cap for one, arriving late and getting angry waving his arms about.
Incidentally I bet he had been looking for that rosette all day

You would say it wasnt that big wouldnt you, wouldnt expect anything else, we packed those pubs around the ground all day, put it this way we took as many as you brought to ours last season. A lot of fans nearly kicked off with the stewards because they were bellends, cant believe in a so called family game a club employs people like that, reminded me of old school royded up bouncers

| From what i saw, there were 2 stewards who need a little man management skills. A bald scouse one who seemed to be either a head steward or supervisor. regardless of if there is a problem always maintain a professional attitude, he didn't and another one with a bald head short stocky fella who was staring at the crowd like he was ready for a fight, he was stood on the west 20 line. There was no need for a lack of professionalism for what were just excitable rovers fans enjoying their day out.

I'm not doubting that your away support was similar to that of ours in the previous season, but that does not make my point incorrect. You have to remember we cater for much larger away support regularily throughout the year, without much complaint. I think the main probem was that the West stand was not open. Ideally you could have all grouped there together behind the sticks.
I can't believe in a so called family game that "a lot of fans nearly kicked off" with the stewards either.

| Quote: rovers "Looked to me like they were spoiling for some trouble yesterday, are they like this every game. One in particular stood in front of the main bank of Rovers, spent the whole game staring people out, for some reason thinks he is 10 men with the steroid sugar muscles. He wasnt the only one either, ssed a lot of people of yesterday them stewards surely your club cant allow this.'"
I wasn't at the game yesterday but it doesn't surprise me what you say about the stewards. I've seen many incidents over the past few years where they have been unreasonable, poorly trained and unable to cope with different incidients/scenarios.
It may please you to hear that a couple of them went in heavy handed into a group of youngish Manchester United supporters when Liverpool reserves played at our place and got more than they bargained for.

Why? Because all of your fans are double hard barstewards who can handle themselves if things get nawty? Grow up mate. I don't think the issue yesterday was the stewarding per se, I think it was the fact that the West Stand should have been opened. Then, when a load turned up at kick off, there would have been no issue with a full stand (quite the opposite).
Anyway, apart from the tool pipe near me who continually sang to Matt King 'are you a black man in disguise' I thought the Rovers fans were a good bunch on the whole and I enjoyed watching their team play.
71 - RL supporter has a go at stewards for thinking they are '10 men' then, in the next breath, says that if said '10 men' stewards DID kick off implies that they would get battered.....is that irony?

*cringe* I bet you fans are 'propa nawty' right?
I disagree with your assessment I think they dealt with the situations (caused by ed up Fetherstone fans) well. If you are going to turn up late don't expect to get a spot exactly where you want one - they can't allow people to stand on the concourse due to health and safety reasons and that is why they were moved from there. Those fans that didn't stop complaining should have been thrown out if they weren't going to comply with the ground regulations.

Totally agree. They were vexed up ("having drank the town dry from 12 o'clock"icon_wink.gif, then arrived late, then were a bit suprised to see a busy stadia and got confused, frustrated and angry.
The "best in breed" bloke was jabbing fingers at the stewards and mouthing obscenities. He should have been ejected for sure.
