I think he's a backrower. An interchange backrow.
At times last year, when we played him in the backs his lack of pace & agility was exposed, Gilmour walked 'round him at Saints for example.
Coming off the bench in the backrow at Wembley was perhaps his best performance for us, most impirtant anyhow.

| Just hope Kear gets the best out of him,for me he was another dud along with Reardon.A couple of good games and thats it,not good enough imo.Too injury prone and a waste of salary cap.

I think there was only one winner when it came to waste of salary cap space and that is/was Paul Rauhihi.
Rau was the biggest waste of money I have seen play for the wire at the HJ. Terrible signing.

When he scored a hattrick against New Zealand in 05 was it from centre or 2nd row?

Me too - wasn't Ra's fault he picked up a back injury in first year, when fit & on form he could be awesome. Just a shame he didn't do it often enough...

I don't agree with that at all. With better support play, much more of his off-loads would have stuck and he would have been the start of many more tries.
What might have looked like "laziness" to a lot of people was possibly the result of him playing through a very painful chronic injury.
As for Jonno. Best of luck to him. I think he will do a good job for Wakefield and is very useful player, both in the back line and second row.

Your name does you justice. Johnson did some excellent work for the club and was amazingly flexible in being happy to play centre, wing or back row forward with no complaint. He has also outstsnding at Wembley even though he know he would shortly be leaving. I'm glad he's got a deal at Wakey and I hope he does well.

yeah, agree with that. perhaps some of these players versitility is the undoing of them. will be interesting to see how wakefield go this year though. ive never been one of their biggerst fans, didn't think they brought a lot to the comp, but they are slowely starting to win me over. they always play hard, good rugby league and are normally a match for anyone. i hope they can sort their new stadium out, be it sharing with cas or not. i don;t think it would be that bad a thing in this climate, if it was the choice of sharing or not being given a licence.
also, they seem to be very positive in promoting their youth, and this can only be a good thing for british league in general. 7 acadamy grand final winners promoted to their squad. signs that they have spent some decent money on players they think can influence them on to better things, and the salary cap taking serious effect...
