I know this is hard to believe considering most on here live in a Warrington box but these players have been around for half/most of the decade, it's not exactly judging on 7 games.
Gleeson was the best centre at this club for years, he made King look silly for two, Bridge will be a better player over the next 5, King will go alright over the next 18 months before going home and Atkins, never on this earth will make a top class centre. He's an athlete, but for a top centre, you need something more than that.

Players make mistakes in wet weather (yes even Billy Slater has been known to knock on) and until we create the full back robot i'm happy with Richie or Riley. Why not give credit to the kicker, i remember years ago GB first choice full back Graham Steadman used to have a mare every time Jiffy Davies hoisted the bomb as it was unplayable. Did that make him a bad player or is Davies a great kicker?'"
i remember singing "ther'es only one graham steadman" after he'd gifted numerous (3 i think) tries by dropping the bomb from jiffy..... happy days

1883.jpg Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

I don't think he gifted all three. I'm pretty sure Bob Jackson cleaned him out for one of them.

Yep he looked in control tonight. Let's hope he can show that in the tougher games to come.

| He played well tonight, retrurned the ball hard. Which he always does to be fair.
Can't be botherd starting a new thread on him but Riley was outstanding, his 3 tries aside.

| Looked really strong returning the ball last night! Also showed what he can do with the ball for Riley's first, great feet at the line. Isn't the best fullback in the competition, but he is a natural full-back, and the only one we have!

| Mathers was very good last night.
Good to see, I'm sure he's aware his performances haven't been great, and he'll be looking to improve as the season goes on.
It was a positive step forward. Everything he did, he did confidently and with a great deal of purpose.

| Agreed. Don't know what people expect of him, one bloke behind me said "he doesn't get far does he" He's a fullback not a forward!

That sliding take Riley done was nice, he took some pretty tough kicks very well.
