The concern here for Warrington fans is surely the fact that Bridge desn't know the difference between the ball and Ben Jeffries' chest. Now we know how to bamboozle him next time.

As long as Bridge knows where the try line is, I'm not easily concerned

Quote: lefty goldblatt "I see you passed your GCSE in tedry, didn't you, Fun Time.

We were "crying" over a clearly HEAD HIGH (illegal) challenge.
On this occasion, Bridge's forearm hit the chest.
Hope that clears it up for you.'"

didnt you read my last post i thought i explained what actually happened and also any team with ben westwood in it cant really complain about high tackles can they

Quote: bigchris "It appears you are in the minority with your opinions, even the majority of Wire fans I've seen posting have said he was in the wrong. Dropping on a defenseless player whilst leading with your forearm/elbow is not 'tough play', it is a pointless cheap shot which is not needed in our sport.

If both players were stood upright and Bridge tackled in that manner, leading with his forearm/elbow then it would be a penalty, it makes no difference that Jeffries was lying on the floor.

The reason that the commentators and the majority of people watching will have had 'bees in their bonnets' over the incident, is because the challenge was dirty and reckless.'"

The bit in bold is interesting you say leading with the forearm/elbow should just be a penalty, so why should Bridge been sent off then because surely running at someone with an forearm/elbow in there chest would hurt more than dropping on someone using the forearm/elbow?

The thing is, Briers got a deliberately aimed shot, straight in the chops, which is illegal.

As for Westwood's disciplinary record, he's not been that bad, over the years. His last major ban, was 3 years ago!

P.S. Use full stops. It does help.

I haven't actually said Bridge should have been sent off?

My reply was to one of your fans saying the tackle was fair. Whether it was a penalty, yellow or red card wasn't really my point, more that it was certainly not a fair challenge. In fact if he hadn't tried to claim the tackle was fair I wouldn't have even mentioned it.

I think if Kevin Brown never got banned for his running elbow on Bridge the other week then Bridge has a good case for his defence. We shall see.

It's worth remembering that Bradford fans are already feeling sensitive after hearing the teams announced, realising that they binned off our two current centres in favour of a number of 'new Vainikolo's' and (God forbid) Michael Platt. That's not an easy thing for any rugby supporter to live with so any feeble opportunity to defend those decisions are taken.

After he didn't score on Saturday, I'm hoping the Platt voodoo has been broken, much like the Littler Gap.

Usually does, yeah. For lying on in the tackle, not for high tackles/forearms icon_biggrin.gifOH:
