Yeah then Goliath came back and put 80 odd points on us a few weeks later .

Not read all this, but im not feeling it at all this year, and i don't know why!! I should be excited at the prospect of the Widdop/Austin combination...however, the pack and lack of an additional poophouse prop worries me. King, although has done a job for us, is not the centre we need. Gelling COULD be a masterstroke signing, however, could also be a complete jeff up.

Really not sure what i think going into this year. I think Hull are in for a good season, Saints will be top dogs, Wigan slightly improved with Hastings, and you cant really rule out Cas who were injury plagued last year. Should be saying top 2 with the money spent, however i think more than likely 3rd-5th................Bad start, and Price could be under real pressure!!

Aside from signing Widdop, there's not one other new signature that's made me think:

"yes! finally, a name we can challenge for the end of the season honors with."

Very underwhelmed to say the least. Hopefully J. Clark, Currie, Davis, Walker all make strides this season and Philbin carries on the form he showed us all last season. I can see us winding up in 5th, possibly hoping for results to go our way in the last two months to sneak into 3rd.

I also can see the Wire faithful be totally underwhelmed by Widdop. I honestly can't see him doing much. Not with the pack he's going to be playing behind anyway.

Hill needs to be allowed to get back to doing what he does best ,a ball playing forward. We can have the best backs in the comp but 5 drives & a kick won't get us anywhere.

Am I right in saying that Price signed Widdop for St George at the start of the 2014 season and by May of that year Price was surplus to requirements?

Yes it was his third season there too, but he didn't have a record of making finals and winning a trophy on his CV there, which he does with us.

I don't expect Price will be jettisoned if we have the kind of 'meh' season which I expect, ie a repeat of last year without the Challenge Cup win. Take one of the lower playoff spots and exit the playoffs early. I think if we do that, Price would get given at least 2 seasons grace given his record so far.

If we find ourselves 10th or 11th by the halfway point and are on a losing streak of 1 win in 10 then maybe.
