I like the fact that Wigan only had 2 interchanges means they were on the back foot as much as we were. This ignores 1) on the sending off we were down to 3 interchanges and 2) the fact that Burgess wasn’t fit to play should have been obvious, it looked like they had been feeding him up ready for market.
Oh, and given their stance on how they would have won the GF if Flower hadn’t been sent off smacks of hypocrisy.

I just thought it was an entertaining game and was very encouraged with what I saw. Very difficult opening 2 games and we might well be played 2 won 0 but I am not throwing the towel in just yet

What was Powell supposed to do? Hill hit him fair and square with the forearm. Bad technique, unlucky, whatever it was a bad foul irrespective of whether he intended it or not. Have you ever had a finger in your eye? I can tell you now that you wouldn't react like Austin.

Wigan scored one penalty try, and once whilst we were down to 11 men.
I took a lot of confidence from that performance, and i'm sure Price was the happier of the two managers, based on performance after Hill's red.
Wigan fans must surely believe they've had a let off there.

We weren't worried during the game nor after it.
BMM scored a good try clearing three Wigan defenders out of his way. French scored a good try whilst two Wire props stood there and watched him go past them.
If Hill hadn't fouled Powell he'd have scored anyway as Hastings inside pass cut the Wire defence wide open.
Had it remained 13 a side I'm sure Wigan would have won and convincingly. Going down to 12 gave the Wire players that energy and steel in defence they didn't have whilst there were 13 a side on the pitch.
This Wire squad has an abundance of individual quality players, probably more than any other club in SL. As you Wire fans will know by now that has not brought together a quality team.
That is your problem that needs addressing.
