Can we just stop this ridiculous notion that "Patton was to blame" for our 2019 show. Patton is/was not good enough for any top team in SL and thus it is/was Price's fault for continuously picking him as a starting half back.

It is also Price's fault for not improving the 3/4 line or the front row in the off season when it was plain as day to everyone else.

Bringing in Latu at the last minute felt a bit like Price only looked at his squad at the end of pre season for the first time and realised "oh love we're very light up front, quick check who's available?"

My only criticism of preseason was the failure to bring in a prop....but that wasn’t SP fault. He doesn’t buy the players.

He must have some part in selecting players, otherwise we'd have a director of rugby deciding what players to sign to suit our style of play. You wouldn't then buy Widdop and instruct him to just pass the ball.

Latu was a panic buy I assume, with the hope that he'd bust a gut to maybe try and earn a deal back home. Instead we've got an expensive dual registered squad member.

Once again, all the talk of clear the air talks with the players is worrying. I can (blindly) see a good performance tomorrow and then revert to type for a few weeks before the next crisis talks.

We did bring two in and Price seems as reluctant to play them as he would be to loan his missus to a frenchman whose favourite brothel has shut.
