And yet with all that we still come up smelling of manure rather than roses. I think if we have a similar season to last Mr Moran et al will have to have a massive clear from top to bottom.

| The most memorable game I saw at Wilderspool was vs Pies WW3.
God I wish we can see just 1% of that 1st half throughout the coming season and I'd be satisfied.

Sick as **** how we never won that game.
It probably was THE most memorable one, duckie, for the first half alone (for specs of our vintage) .
Not my favourite, though
Can't pick between
Wigan Oct 86
Widnes Lancs Cup 89
Beating the all conquering Bradford in 01, coming from about 12 points back.

Do you mean in 2000, when Hilton had a fight with Brian McDermott and Langer lit them up in the second half. The club shop released that video in the days when everybody still had VHS, with that classic commentary, "Lee Penny OH MY GOD OH MY GOD what a try" "I'm gonna need some industrial rope to stop me falling off this gantry".
Or did you mean 01, when Paul Darbyshire was in temporary charge and Rob Smyth scored in the corner last minute.

Interesting to see how quickly Leeds have got back up amongst the favourites now they have Agar in charge.

00, sally. The mind's playing tricks.
I remember the 01 game with great happiness.
I was at a wedding of one of Mrs Goldblatt's friends, watching on TV between the wedding breakfast, and the evening do.
God knows how I kept hold of my Guinness, as Smyth went down the Snookers wing.
Happy day

Might be different this season. I think our board could do with a freshen up if not.

Look at that team...taking on the Bradford pack with a prop rotation of Guisset, Masella, Paul Wood and Chambers. Nikau and Jon Clarke as the half backs. Sibbit at centre.
That was the week after Langer and Van de Velde went home.

| Not read all this, but im not feeling it at all this year, and i don't know why!! I should be excited at the prospect of the Widdop/Austin combination...however, the pack and lack of an additional poophouse prop worries me. King, although has done a job for us, is not the centre we need. Gelling COULD be a masterstroke signing, however, could also be a complete jeff up.
Really not sure what i think going into this year. I think Hull are in for a good season, Saints will be top dogs, Wigan slightly improved with Hastings, and you cant really rule out Cas who were injury plagued last year. Should be saying top 2 with the money spent, however i think more than likely 3rd-5th................Bad start, and Price could be under real pressure!!

Great break by Toa, who then did a superb flick pass to Smyth.
Once clear Smyth was always going to score, rounding the Bradford fullback with ease.
