| So what part do the match review panel actually play in these disciplinaries ? They managed to miss O'Brien being taken out twice ,once with a shoulder charge, & they managed to miss Masoe's intentional punch last week. Do they only review incidents that are brought to their attention ?

| Quote: Saddened! "Really poor from Tony Smith that. It was a poor tackle. For me the lateness wasn't the issue. It's the fact it clearly impacts the head of a defenseless player that makes it worthy of a ban. Smith is claiming that it's his chest that hits the face? A bizarre thing to say when Westwood has had a right swing at his head.'"
I agree with that. I may be biased but how anybody (especially TS) cannot see a swinging arm that makes contact with the head I dont know.

| Quote: ExiledTiger "'...the kid has gone from almost standing upright to dipping down...'
This would be from the same coach who last year said, 'But when you decide to make a tackle and the ball carrier dips, for whatever the reason, the onus has always been on the defender. It's going to be interesting to see how defences go from here on in. They'll go to every judiciary disciplinary meeting and say, 'well the ball carrier was dipping.'
Hypocrite.'"
Of course he is, he's a coach. Coaches are full of sh !t, hypocrisies and bitter snippets all the time. They say whatever they can from week-to-week that will put pressure on another team or the officials and take pressure off his team or get the other team 'done' or get some benefit for his team. If you paid attention to every coach you could pull up quotes every week on something they said in total contrast to something they said at another time.

| The dipping comment, could that be a reference to the Russell/Leuluai incident? when the disciplinary decided Russell was dipping in order to help him double the size of his face, split his lip, lose some teeth and a visit to the A&E department followed by several months of dental problems, could those injuries possibly be caused with contact to the head?
Westwood has got a two match ban fair enough the other incidents in the same game and the above reference nothing, is the disciplinary committee consistent? of course it is.

| Quote: CommanderShepard " I see around the boards there is STILL no mention of the late hit on O'Brien from Carney. Why wasn't this taken to the disciplinary?'"
Because it would not have been serious enough to warrant a dismissal, as there was clearly no contact with the head. Should have been a penalty and Carney should have been in the bin for 10 minutes, but as usual Bentham missed it. However, it doesn't meet the threshold for retrospective disciplinary action.
Westwood's first game back will be against Cas. I hear we are considering signing Gray Viane.

He hit his own player who was lying on the ground. I think it was O'Brien again who was the intended target. It wasn't shown on any highlight programmes.

I do remember that now. I thought that was a bit of a pantomime "look at me I'm massive and I'm going to do a pretend wrestling drop on these two little-uns", nothing in it for me.

If Gravy did came back i'm sure Westwood would be out with a back injury (loss of spine) total thug who likes to go after half's. 2 game ban should be doubled imo

Are you seriously suggesting Justin Carney (as a winger, defending as the last man on the edge) goes round hunting half backs?
Might explain where is is when he is meant to be defending kicks to the corner though.
He usually picks on smaller wingers, not half backs. Usually when we are in possession though.

| Quote: Fantastic Mr Catpiss "who?'"
Gary Viane. Cas second rower who Westwood underestimated when he tried to pick a fight with him. Westwood threw about four punches, missed with most of them and was subsequently flattened with a right hook. Both players were binned but it sparked the game and shortly afterwards McGoldrick and Paul Wood were both sent off for fighting.
Interestingly, I think the score was roughly a reverse of the game last weekend.
