| Quote: Alfie Langer No2 "This! Don't want him. We've got enough centres far better than him and if he can't get 6 or 7 at Salford, why sign him for Wire? He's not replacing Briers, we've got Gaz OB coming through, Myler is starting to show his quality. Just don't understand why we'd want him.'"
I don't think he'll be playing centre mate. Hodgson's replacement I feel.

So is Riley a gonner then? Taking the route of Penny out the club...
What about the young Hellewell we signed from Bradford? I thought he was being trained as the replacement as why else sign someone so young?! I just dont think there's any room for him.

Think he plays wing for the 20's mainly.

| Wire fans always complain about Tony Smith's signings.
Solomona - injury prone, spent more time on Bradford's injury table than on the pitch
Hodgson - yes he was good a few years ago but is a 33 year old really the way forwards?
Joel Monaghan - get rid of our best winger Hicks to bring over somebody who was forced out of the NRL in disgrace

Really good point. Ratchford's a young player and the coaching situation at Salford this year can't be helping his development. Smith obviously sees something in him and he seems to be able to get the best out of players.

I have to say I'm more excited about Ratchford coming to us than I was when we signed Atkins.
Although most Wire fans seemed quite pleased that we were getting Atkins, I didn't really rate him, I thought he was a poor replacement for Gleeson and offered nothing other than being a big lad who ran straight. If I'm honest I saw him as the next Karl Pryce. However I have become a real Atkins fan since he has been playing for us, I think he's more Senior than Pryce, and I think his game has come on a lot under Tony Smith.
Same with Bridge who was already with us but I was ready to get rid of because I thought he was one of those lads who was hyped up as a junior but would end up being passed around clubs like Salford and Wakey once he left us, but since Smith has been here he has been top class as well.
I know if I was a young player with talent wanting to get the best out of my ability I'd be looking to play under Tony Smith without a doubt.

Same, as I've said before he seems to possess a certain flair with ball in hand that's rare in British players.
With the right guidance under TS he could turn out to be a great signing, and his versatility means he can play a number of key positions.

| i have watched steff now since he came through the ranks at salford and think he would be an ideal replacement for when hodgson goes as for him being bone idle i see the same thing happening when you signed richie myler not saying a player never tries his best best when he goes out but steff looks as if he cant be d at times because he knows hes playing else where next season saying that he got a good hat trick of tries 2 weeks ago i would hate to lose him at salford i think hes a very talented lad

| With Ratchford, it all depends on his wage. If he's on a moderate wage and get improvements as he improves then it can only be a good thing.
If he's on huge contact (which i doubt as he is unproven at the highest level for me( then it could be very bad...
