Have they been successful since Ronaldo left?
missed out last year on the main 3 prizes... ended up with the reserve cup.

| Holloway is the end of a bell. He's just a "rent a funny quote" media whore (SoccerAM etc)
Since the start of Bosman, players have said to their clubs that they wont sign another contract, citing that the club lacked their (the player's) ambition. Where was Holloway then, wringing his hands and shouting at the cameras at that clubs plight......nowhere to be seen. Holloway's come out with this b011ock5 because he wants to ingratiate himself with Taggart.PATHETIC.

Its called negotiating tactics..... Rooney was playing the media (sad stupid muppets went along with him as well)..... United wasnt backing down..... He didnt get everything he wanted but got enough to be able to "back-down".
Can you imagine this amount of fuss if, say, Martin Gleeson said "I dont want to play at Warrington, I can get more money at Wigan and more success at Wigan" ? If the media dont give a damn about the sport its lucky to make the inside back pages!

To be fair you can't compare Martin Gleeson to Rooney.
Gleeson has been a consistent player at international level and was one of the best players in the last World Cup.

It's hard to make solid predictions about the demise or rise of any of the big clubs (now including City) because the balance of power has changed quite often in the past decade or so.
There was a time when Arsenal had probably the best team in Premiership history and used to go through the opposition like a juggernaut, and nobody was in their class.
Then Chelsea got cashed up and Mourinho made them a ruthless machine who barely conceded a goal and could not be beaten at Stamford Bridge (they rarely lost away). United looked like they had fallen a long way from their past glories, remember the days when Keane kicked off about them and then left, and their midfield had Kleberson, Djemba Djemba and a young (generally criticised) Fletcher
Then United suddenly got it together and overhauled them and won a Champions League and made a Champions League final and were probably the best United team of Fergie's era. Meanwhile Chelsea got written off as a team who were ageing and past their best, and Arsenal a team who had lost too many good players and were not able to compete for trophies any more.
Then Chelsea's ageing team leapfrogged back to the top, United lost players who they couldn't replace and Arsenal quietly managed to hang in just behind whilst City emerged.
Where will the balance of power go next? If Chelsea don't replace their older players well, then they may slip again, and the vacuum will open up for City, although if Arsenal hang on to Fabregas, they might end up in a relatively stronger position.
Overall I don't think English teams will be as strong in Europe as they were in recent years though.

| should of not offered him another contract. that would of shocked him! a player should never get it in his head that he can bully a club into getting him more money, let him go move on and wait for the next big star to emerge!

Its true. He was the white Péle, you know. Then when word got out he was leaving, some of the stuff I heard was disgusting, "Join City and we'll shoot you" etc. Now it's "Well in Wayne", "Top player!"

A bit like Steven Gerrard, there was a time when every summer he was off to Chelsea, one time he even explained to the Liverpool fans his reasons for leaving, that the club hadn't shown hard enough that they wanted to keep him etc etc, then next thing he signed a new contract.
Patrick Vieira used to do it at Arsenal, he was joining AC Milan or Man United every summer for a while.

Cut him in half and he bleeds red, apparently.

Fair enough but I'm on about the fans. I don't seem to recall Gerrard recieving threats such as United fans have done with Rooney.
