If this signing gets confirmed then it leaves either Ashton or Charnley out in the cold. That's quite cheap £114k for a player who has been as good as Fergus on has previously (going back a few years now though), however if we have £114k spare then it should be spent on a quality front row player, Jason Clarks wage should also have been spent on a quality prop. Then we may not be in as much of a mess now.

If we sign a (formerly) high profile winger now when we are desperately light in the forwards then our recruitment team needs a full overhaul (it does anyway).
