| He lost the bench spot to Matt Davis. Livett's move to HKR was the right thing for all concerned.

| I think Livett's stock fell significantly after the CC final debacle v Catalans, which was unfair as everyone else got it wrong that day.
He is undoubtedly very talented but there's some baggage there; I think his performances are too hit and miss, he has a laconic air about him and gives off a vibe of indifference at times.
Would I have him back? Perhaps, as a replacement for J Clark or Akuola who despite good early form still feel like luxuries to me.

He shouldn't have played at Wembley.
He wasn't fit and a blame him for not holding his hand up. If you ain't 99%+ fit...Wembley will always find you out.
However before that injury...he was clearly our top performer early in the season.

| Livett disappointed after he signed a contract extension, he became lazy in defence and looked to mope around the field. I'd rather have Sita off the bench than Livett.

| I thought Sita did well against Saints and gave us some physicality and tackled well. Admittedly, he needs to sustain it for more minutes but, as there is a shortage of props in the game, he is more important to us than Livett. We are more than well covered in the back row and will have promising youngsters coming through in Wrench and Longstaff in a couple of years.

Promising youngsters ..... like Livett was? Talent alone clearly will not suffice and I worry that Luis Johnson will go the same way.

| Or like Philbin was. It’s about attitude as well as talent and perhaps that was the problem with Livett.

I can't quite make my mind up about Longstaff. He doesn't do as much with the ball as Wrench, but can't stop scoring tries. I would love to know why Wigan released him from their Scholarship.

| he had a great game... but lets not be silly.
This loan will see him play every week and will give him the chance to develop...... at wire, he would probably cameo now and again... so this move is perfect for the players development.
Now, if he DOES grow throughout the season and become a quality SL first team regular, then there maybe a bit of a fight for his signature... and we may lose out... There are alot of 'ifs' in there though.
The loan move was the right thing to do.

| I think a problem with young players is that you have to make them believe they can make the first team . The longer they are kicking their heels in the reserves the more focus they will lose on why they decided to try RL in the first place & once they discover women & having fun they could be off altogether. Perhaps a league wide extra substitution of a reserve player for say 10 or 20 minutes per game should be encouraged.
Going off on a tangent, we had a cracking young snooker player in a club i go in. He practised regularly & could have been good, then he discovered women. Now he is the town stud & doesn't bother much with snooker.
