The article is just the journalists speculating: "however, it is understood that....", which seeing as clubs are allowed to ask the RFL about officials' decisions in every Super League game too seems like a bit of a non-story. It's obvious they were going to ask that question behind closed doors. If they wanted to make a big thing of it, then when the St Helens Star came contacting them they should have blasted the officials in the press.

There's a long thread on this forum at the moment about Wire fans saying the officiating isn't good enough so we shouldn't be surprised if Saints felt the same. They got on the wrong end of being ripped off on Saturday and they won't be happy, just like we wouldn't if it had gone against us. But they aren't trying to use this as an excuse....the St Helens Star is just trying to stir things up.

This is farcical! It sums up my thoughts and feelings from all year. As I’ve said before on here I’ve been to Wire and Saints home games this year and this sums up exactly what I’ve been saying! The Saints club is full of bitter and twisted buffoons!! One eyed red vee clampits!! Look at the game again closely as I have!! Saints were turned over good style! Out fought out played out enthused and totally beaten! And I might add out supported! Let’s hope this backfires with a ban for Walmsley with his blatant shoulder charge a ban for Taia for a disgraceful forearm smash on King and a ban for Lachlan Coote for deliberately trying to manipulate the outcome of the game!!

Good point about the Linehams try last year. Never heard anyone say that cost us the game or put us on the back foot. Think we all admitted we weren't good enough and deserved to lose. We've had some bad press as late but we'll never be as arrogant in victory or bitter in defeat as that mob.

St Helens doing themselves no favours here and I doubt their players would endorse it. Even some of the Saints fans leaving comments disagree with it.
