Liverpool Rock N Roll Marathon already taking part in the city that weekend. Marathon course goes around Anfield. Licences etc already granted for road closures.

Either it wont be at Anfield, Sunday kickoffs will start much later to all for the marathon to be completed and cleared away ............. or its going to be a little bit busy !

That's true to the rfl form. They must have looked into that as they couldn't find a train issue.

Don't worry there's bound to be a train issue as well. If you live within walking distance it's fine. Could sign up for the marathon to get there i suppose.

I was under the impression that the "magic weekend" was to publicise the game in non rugby areas. However Liverpool has had numerous attempts in the past and all have failed utterly.Geoff "Fletchers men", Liverpool stanley,,liverpool city, who moved to Runcorn, Huyton, Liverpool rugby union club eventually moved to S t helens because of lack of interest. I do not think that Lancashire Cricket team have a fixture there now. Liverpool is a 100% football town. possibly coventry could be a venue,having a flourishing rugby league set up and a rugby union team so rugby is not completely foreign
