I've just tried to buy some in the top tier - the only block in the top tier which seems open on the website is 552. 507 through to 513 aren't showing as sold out, apart from 510, but the site isn't allowing me to click on any of those blocks and buy seats...

Depends on what you mean by 'discounted'. I bought Club Wembley tickets for £65 each which I guess is cheap compared to soccer prices.

It was always going to be a tough sell given Catalans fans are hardly likely to number the 15,000 plus that guarantees a good attendance. At least the RFL are doing something about it.

Saints vs Catalans in 2007 attracted an attendance of 84,241. We will be lucky to get within 20K of that number.
That's why I say grim times. It could be the lowest Wembley attendance since 1945/46 Wakefield vs Wigan.

And yes, good on the RFL for trying to save face at the showpiece event. Maybe they will consider their actions which may have led to this.

I wonder if there will be much take up of tickets both from France & from French expats in the UK . There must be a lot of French expats in London & the south east. It would be good to see ,in the absence of royalty, May & Macron in the royal box.

I know you were joking but its a serious point about Toronto etc. What if, in 5 years time, Catalans and Toronto are the two powerhouses of the game and meeting in finals? The GF could be a ghost town unless they make it a three game home and away series. Its just been published that almost all premiership sides could survive without a crowd....rugby league desperately needs it's spectators and the final needs bloody moving from this ridiculous gridlocked weekend.

I think I'm right in saying through, that 2007 was the first Challenge Cup Final at the new Wembley, which probably boosted the attendance.

Previous attendances were over-inflated with the whole of the club wembley middle tier included in the attendance when it was 99% deserted.

Middle Tier accounts for 16,532 seats. When I last went to Wembley in 2016 I'd say it was sp but not deserted.

We have fallen a long way in 30 years. The 1988 CC Cup Final between Wigan and Halifax attracted 94,273. And that was real bums on seats.
