I agree, I think that extra home game is massive when you’re playing against top 8 sides. It’s so close this year that those 2 points could be the difference between 4th or 5th. Saints have 1st tied up but we are the only other top 4 team with the cup to distract us. I think we need 4th.

This season it doesn't look as though there will be much of a gap between 3rd and 5th going into the 8's. With a maximum 14 points to play for in the 8's every game counts and being in 4th spot with only a 2 point gap to 5th would still be a big advantage.

The CC is still our best chance of a final / silverware this season. We could probably do with being drawn against either Saints or Leeds in the first round of the 8's (since the other teams will have had a week off).

Lets be honest here for a short minute, the only reason you are even talking about the top 4 is because of the injury crisis at both Hull, Castleford and Leeds alike. Had they had even half there squad fit enough to play over the course of this season you would be talking about not dropping into that bottom 4.
