| I'd be very surprised if it wasn't
Gidley
Russell (Johnson if unfit)
Evans
Atkins
Lineham
Brown
Patton
Cooper
Clark
Sims
Hughes
Savelio
Westerman
Dwyer
Philbin
Westwood
Livett
if Ratchford was back I would probably look to give him a run in the centre ahead of Evans, but the squad just simply isn't healthy enough / big enough to make wholesale changes at this stage. Evans, for all his faults, is better than Blythe.
Hopefully that right edge defence has been doing plenty of work this week, Am I right in thinking Hughes is playing on the left currently? Is iot worth him moving over to the right?

| Quote easyWire="easyWire"You mean 2 debutantes and a guy on his second game.
As opposed to Warrington playing with a few guys with only a couple of first team games played? Although the injuries to the Warrington squad are no excuse for the performances at the start of the season, [uit's fair to say we are missing more strike power and experience than Wigan at the moment[/u.
Can never win on this argument... if Wigan win it's because they have strength in depth with a wonderful youth system, if they lose it's because they had to field kids instead a couple of the regular threequarters.
Interestingly Wigan still have more internationals on the field on Thursday.'"
Seriously? Missing more Strike power than :-
Sam Tomkins - Manfredi - Gildart - Tierney - Burgess - Bateman (Plus Sutton & McCollorum Which I don't class as Strike power but Experience etc.)

| I agree to an extent about the centres needing a kick up the botty (well the whole back line really). However, you wouldn't have an inexperienced, or non match fit player against Gelling would you? So for me, Atkins has to stay in the starting line up. Also IMO, Livett has shown he can more than hold his own. Id swap him for Evans.
Looking at Wigans squad, this is a great opportunity to get our season back on track......by god we need to.

| At least we will have the benefit of Russell's scoots from dummy half this week. He is surprisingly effective at breaking the defensive line.

| Quote moving on...="moving on..."So if you think he's Rubbish then why are you arguing about me thinking we should drop him for Blythe who you also claim is 'awful'? If they are both rubbish/awful then what does it matter who is picked?'"
Because Atkins is comfortably better than both whether in bad form or not... and livett is young, with potential, he would benefit from the experience, and cannot be any worse than Evans.
Whats the point in playing Blythe who is 28 years old and awful? He isn't going to suddenly improve.

| Our backline worries me, on the defensive side, but I think we have the advantage in the pack and the halves. I'm getting the feeling of a high scoring close one.

| Anything but a comfortable home win for Wire I will
consider as a moral victory for Wigan under the circumstance they are presently in.
A close win spells little or no improvement from the diabolical I've seen over the last 3 SL games.

| We've lost 3 games by 10 pts or less, not pleasing, but far from diabolical.

| Perhaps Shiny but even you will find Friday morning difficult to defend us if we don't rack up a win and some.

| Quote NSW="NSW"Warrington slight favourites with the bookies which is probably right. Will be more desperate for the win after a bad start.
Like you've said Wigan are missing a few ( Tomkins, McIlorum, Manfredi, Burgess, Gregson, Sharrocks, Bateman, Tierney, Sutton and probably Gildart)
Escare
Davies ( debut)
Gelling
Forsyth ( debut)
Marshall ( second game)
Williams
Lealuai
FPN
Powell
Flower
Isa
Farrell
SOL
Tautai
Clubb
Wells
Tomkins
I know you guys have got a lot of injuries yourselves, anyone back for this game?
Prediction
Wire 20-16 Wigan'"
Swap Wells for Bretherton or Navarette. Can't see Wells being thrown in without having a pre season and only one u19s game under his belt compared to the other two.

Played One game and he's branded as awful and won't get better. Behave.
We've stuck with the Russell, Atkins and Evans project long enough. time to clear the deadwood and give someone else a good go. if they proved to be equally as bad then we're only in the same position as were would be been in anyway.
