| Quote morrisseyisawire="morrisseyisawire"Obviously, main thing is that Matty is ok and recovers quickly and completely.
Now, I actually felt that the tackle on Bridge was more worthy of a dismissal or sin-binning. It was an attack to the throat, there were no mitigating circumstances as there were in the Russell incident and could have had very nasty repurcussions.
Whatever your feeling about either incident, I'm getting sick of seeing proud, honest, gifted players leaving the pitch prone on stretchers and wondering if they'll be the same ever again. Injuries happen, we all know that, but the severity and frequency is increasing; whether that is down to bad luck, bad judgement or something more sinister I'm not sure.'"
Seems to be happening to Wire disproportionately. As has been said on here a ton: we need some mongrel and belly fire, I think putting it into the opposition like they do to us will stem this issue. Bring back Bennie and bring on Mr. Sims!

| Accident or not that is an attack to the head, I'm not being dramatic when I say that, that shot could have killed the lad.

| Get better soon Matty.
For all the wrong reasons, addressing the balance with Hock doesn't seem such a bad idea any more.

You wouldn't be addressing the balance with Hock because if he'd put in a shot like the one on Russell or Bridge the team would have been a man down, he'd be spending the remainder of the game in the dressing room

| I'd love it if the game was similar to ice hockey, every team has an enforcer and if the little guys are getting bullied the enforcer steps in.

| Watching the replay again and again. To me the tackler looked like he was going to make a tackle. Had his arms out around the side to complete the tackle. It was not a shoulder charge for mine. There was no leading with the shoulder. It was only for a few inches and it could have been a clash of heads.
Even Russell has said that he thought it was part and parcel of the game. There is a debate to be had about contact with the head, but it's all well and good saying that at zero miles an hour. When you see a player fumble the ball, you have to commit to the tackle. There was nothing about it for me that suggested he was trying to smash his face in.
I'm glad he's alright and there is no way I want a player seriously injured, but serious injury is part of the risk of our game. Just as in any collision sport. The sport serious injuries. Long, Deacon, Ward, Lomax, Mckinnon, are just a few names off the top of my head who have suffered serious injuries.

| I'm thinking about that incident and a few others yesterday, and could it be that opposing coaches are telling their players to rough us up a bit. Have we developed a bit of a "soft" reputation. It was certainly different with Benny and Morley on the field.

Probably. The only thing your players seem to do is moan to the ref, mainly Michael Monas.
