Some numpty always feels compelled to write one of these posts before the fact.

Well I'm not going to write one asking the question after the fact am I?

Its a simple question on whether anyone thinks we will beat our record. Nothing arrogant in that. Not saying we will, nor that we won't.

This board has gone to the dogs because of utter downers like you. Bringing your negativity down on the parade.

A few years ago the board was poor with trolls aplenty & a fair number of poor posts & topics.

Not being a downer (if you noticed I even stopped posting about Asotasi) but what these kind of posts do, is they tend attract trolls and other lets say other less desirable posters.

This board full of trolls brings this board down, I'm not going to be all dictorial and stop people posting topics i diagree with, like you I have an opinion and unlike you it is me that tidies it up when it goes silly.

Post whatever you like within the AUP I'm cool with anything but don't get upset if I have an opinion on it that differs from your own.

My take on the season -
We started out in a disjointed fashion and it looked like we'd lost too many core players, with Briers being the unexpected one and the one that gave me the most concern
We lost a few and deservedly so, and many on here were very concerned (and I would go so far as to say 'panicking' with talk about not reaching the top eight), we have improved and some of the combinations have started to work and some of the lesser players finding their feet (like England, Laithwaite, Ormsby, Russell).
Bridge moving to the halves added some steel (although I still think he holds the ball too much).
Confidence has grown and we've had a run against teams that are (mainly) not in the top eight.
Players out with injury will start to return but it'll take a few weeks for them to return to match fitness.

But - fundamentally - the run-in is horrible.
We play all the top sides week after week - with the CC in the mix as well and then (hopefully) reach the play offs where we have to play the top sides again. And on top of that there's the pressure of keeping the longest winning streak we've had in SL going.
We're simply not good enough or strong enough to win all of that lot - no side is. That's why there's only 2 points separating the top 5.

So it's a matter of how we react when things start to go against us.

Will we win silverware this year?
Possibly but for me not 'probably' just yet.

I dont think we will, we may match it but it will be very difficult to beat that run! I just cant believe the turn around for us this season and hold TS in higher regard now than I ever have, which I thought impossible!

I agree with most of your assessment here but I wouldn't say the run in is horrible. There are no teams this year that are really going to go down in the hall of legends. Also in terms of league position, the fact that we play the top teams means if we pick up a few wins we gain points over key rivals. We won't go unbeaten but I think we should be aiming to win more than we lose against those other top teams, if we can do that we will go in to the playoffs knowing we are in the mix as contenders.

This is a better position than I thought we'd be as I thought we would just hobble through to the playoffs and then get knocked straight out when we played someone good.
