Good luck to him but can't believe the love-in on here. The kindest thing I can say about him as a hooker is that he was 'limited'.

He was solid in centre defence and with ball in hand was consistent.

I can't believe the love-in either but from a different perspective. A player who was actually and regularly booed by the neanderthals. I always thought his biggest problem was that he wasn't either Keiron Cunningham ( a once in a generation player) or a joker whose character appeared to be more important than his real ability.

How much ability did he have though? Not an explosive runner and ponderous with his distribution.

Not going to be a hypocrite so i'll admit i never rated him. He was better when he played at loose forward as his kicking was half decent and he backed up well. But hooker is in my opinion the most important position on the field and his decision making and distribution can be best described as average. And can we please stop using the word servant for people who were paid a decent wage for doing their job(that goes for any player!)

I didn't really rate him, and I felt Myler got left out of the 2010 cup final just so we could send Clarke on his way with a winner's medal, rather than because of any explosive form he'd shown. That said, he's impressed me more with his distribution since playing for Widnes.

I thought he shouldn't have played rugby ever again after that assault, and this is from someone who went to school with him.

He served his time in prison & was given another chance. Good luck to the lad . He served us well.
