It took two years of underachievement and no prospect of improvement to shift Cull, nothing more, and the same clearly cannot be said of Smith.

| I believe Cullen could have achieved at Warrington.
I even told him so. Briers and Bridge was his intended 6 & 7.
Bridge let him down.

| I had a theory on GOB that I shared with a few people a couple of weeks ago.
We had Russell on the bench instead of a forward because Ratchford and Myler were always going to be first choice backs regardless of form, I said he couldn't drop O'Brien until Myler had a better game than O'Brien or O'Brien just had a stinker, he wanted to drop him in favour of a guy he clearly rates more even though form had been poor.
Well it happened v Wigan and I said as he was coming off the field, "he'll be dropped now he can finally justify it".
So Myler has 5 lousy games and still keeps his place.

2012 Challenge Cup final, amongst many other games, Myler was absolutely outstanding. The best back on the field that day. Last season Briers and Hodgson missed a number of games and Myler took the lead and lead us on to win games through his performances. Your comment is a myth. He's just having a poor start to [ithis[/i season!

| Myler has been the better half back for the past two games. He was also in fantastic form last season till he got injured. You can't blame the current attacking structures solely at the feet of the half backs. They need options, which they aren't getting.
I've seen nothing from O'Brien yet to convince me he's going to be a top SL player, I've seen it from Myler. Yes he needs to improve, but with the possible exceptions of Westwood, House & Higham, they all do.
Our first choice 1, 6 & 7 are now fit to play together. They need to be given time.
Would Myler have been given the same stick had he come through our own youth system instead of us forking out £200k for him...?

| Myler caused us more problems then O'Brien did last week with ball in hand. He made a couple of half breaks whereas I didn't see O'Brien really take the ball in at all. In terms of kicking, passing and general organising they were both way off.
I think O'Briens skills alongside Russell and Ratchford is probably a better balanced trio but as an outsider I can understand why Myler survived the chop going off last week alone.

Unfortunately Yed, I think TS is out of options. He has wielded the knife on under performing players this season; Chris Riley, Ben Currie, now GOB. But as far as the halfback combination is concerned, I don't think he has a realistic option other than Ratchford and Myler.

That's a fair comment.
With that I'll jump off the band wagon and just see what happens over the season.
We're clearly not going to go into the market now.
It matters little who plays at hb really as they all show a lack of something there.
I said it before. .. This season balances on the form of the 3/4 line. I know many of you dismiss my comments, what ever I write, but I think I've seen enough to suggest that I was right.

| We all knew it would happen and many disagree, myself included but lets see how it pans out as TS has proved us all wrong many times before.

| To be fair Mylers performance against Wigan was quite good, he moved the ball ok and did make a few half breaks. His defense was fantastic and he brought down everyone that ran at him, i know some will say not his job to be good in defense, but it is everybody's job. He missed the tackles you would be moaning.

| But if the attack is nailed on then the defence is rarely tested, as was the case in 2012.

| I'm not a fan of stifling out football.
The game of big defence is boring.
We're gonna end up too much like the NRL. Sitting and clapping occasionally.
Games involving Wigan over the last 2 seasons and Warrington and to some extent Huddersfield this season, I have found less entertaining than others.
In contrast the games involving Leeds Saints Castleford and Wakefield among the more entertaining.

| But we have had people on here saying that we should be emulating NRL ! That game last week though became a borefest at times & i was glad when it was over. It does make you wonder though ,how many times the team can be tinkered with before the lack of penetration near the line gets blamed on the coaching staff. Do they actually practice any moves in training ? Maybe one of the training days should involve playing against our reserves ,containing all our out on loan players to create a competitive edge & to try & reconstruct a match day opposition.

| I don't think the gulf between the sides would offer anything that closely resembles a match day intensity unless its London.
