I said Myler the last time this topic popped up. When Myler is fit and firing we're at our best. He's [ithat[/i important to us. I think he naturally leads in the way he plays.

Of course, Roy Asotasi has been captain of NZ and is captain of Samoa - so he'd be the obvious choice now he's coming to us. But Myler could be here for years. I'd be happy with either.

I think Cat is right, it will be Asotasi. Monas has only a year left, and could easily be sidelined with his knees. With Asotasi we have the prospect of a bit more continuity, as well as the track record of doing the job at the highest level. I also wonder if making him captain may bring a lot more out of the guy in terms of his own performances.

Longer term (5 years) my pound would go on Currie.

Chaz, I'd have to agree with your short term analysis and you got to think that the captaincy was a key factor in smith's recruitment policy. Grix is a good player, is he that vocal I understand you can lead by example?

Who knows what the future holds? Currie certainly has the potential to be a top, top player, I just hope that we keep hold of him.
