| If we'd have ripped them like this in the Cup semi all the posts on here would be about how the game was dying because of what Wigan had done to London the day before.
I dread to think what people will say when the World Cup is on because when the quarter finals come round, the Aussies and Kiwis are going to put 70 odd on Wales or Tonga or whoever, even one of the semis is going to be 50 odd points between NZ and PNG. Lets hope the other semi is kept to within 50 points else.

Because they were able to raise their game a couple of times this season, but tonight was one game too many. You see it in a lot of teams, a combination of a backs to the wall attitude and a good team out of form and they get a big scalp, a la Widnes over us. Hull just didn't have another HUGE defensive effort in them so they got spanked because that's 90% of their game.
Just got to hope we don't have one of those days ourselves next week! We've seen it happen before...

| It's happened a few times in play-off games where once a team realises they're beat and their season's over, heads drop and it gets messy. It's the nature of the sport; of your head ain't right, and you start feeling sorry for yourself, you're gonna get spanked. I think Hull had in their heads that this might be a game too far, that they had a lot of injuries, that Huddersfield might hit back after last week; then they found themselves 18-0 down inside 10, self-pity set in (look at Shaul's body language after his dropped bomb) and before they knew it, it was 36-0.
I can't see this happening to us, Leeds or Wigan. Huddersfield could get blown out, as mentally I'm not convinced that they've convinced themselves they are a big enough team to get to a GF; Saints could also capitulate after a tough season when they've had their backs to the wall. I'm not saying either will happen, but that they're possible if circumstances go a certain way.
As I've said before, and was said above (and the missus tells me Briers even tweeted earlier), we need to go back to top 5 play-offs ASAP, both for the credit ability of the league, and to hopefully avoid episodes like tonight-though I think even then this kind of thing will still happen every so often.

| The whole thing was bizarre. Collectively and individually the team played like novices.
Think we will hear more about this one!

| I'm wondering what your thoughts would be if hull fans were to disrespect you having beaten you this season in the same way some on here are disrespecting Huddersfield. Yes you have beaten us this season (but that game at your place was an absolute joke). I'm not sure how its any different to hull having beaten you and knocked you out of the cup. Im seeing plenty on here saying broughy isnt good enough - hes put many teams ti shame this year and smashed club records held for almost 100 years. that our league position flatters us and we dont have the head for big games. thats been said plenty of times about us this season, leeds in the cup, wigan in the league, last night ot was said and we proved doubters wrong. yet you lost the CC cup final to the team we blew out of the water last night. If you are judging Huddersfield on those games you played us alone then you are in for a big shock. We have beaten Leeds saints and Wigan when all those teams were at full strength. I'm not saying we will beat you but I find this dismissal of us baffling.

you're an inexperienced side that has no history of winning big games... add to that that we have beaten you with relative ease 3 times this season and its not that difficult to understand.
Brough has gone missing against us 3 times this season. We're not rating him because against us he has been outplayed by Myler every time.
yes you might prove us wrong, but the cold hard facts are leeds, wigan and saints are viewed as stronger opposition by most.

| Some teams have the personnel and tactics to beat other yeams consistently. We have had problems with Hull and Widnes this year. Doesn't mean they are better sides.

| No one is dismissing Hudds. It is just that Hull capitulated after 10 minutes and couldn't be bothered tackling. They made Brough look world class, when he can't even make the England team.
I gave up watching at half time to do something much more exciting - washing up!
