I can listen to The Stone Roses but Dizzee Rascal on the same bill. A bit of a miss match concert.
Very similar to when they put Jimi Hendrix on the same bill as the Monkees.

I don't think Dizzee's on tonight, although I'm not sure. I know PIL are on, who I'll be half interested in watching if I get there on time, but I'm not fussed really.

Wonder how many of us will be in Gillingham. I suspect the extra travelling beyond London will put a few Wires off - I wouldn't be bothering if it didn't coincide with the Roses in all honesty - so given London's average attendances anyway, the fact that a lot of their fans aren't happy about Gillingham, and the unlikelihood of a significant number of locals being interested, we could be on for a season low here.

Just got home, absolutely exhausted after getting up at 0500 but had a brilliant day, enjoyed every minute. Nice to see Brickstone Wire on the train and enjoyed getting to know some people watching their first game of rugby league. Days like this make you really feel privileged to follow the greatest game of all.

Whilst checking out some of the pubs around Gillingham both before and after the match I was surprised about how many were both interested and knowledgeable about the Gillingham match and RL in general. We bumped into several groups of locals who were planning to go to, or had been to the match.

Might not please the die hard London fans, or us northerners who would have to travel that bit further to get to the game, but I suspect London could do far worse than relocate (and rename) to Gillingham permanently. I experienced far more interest and passion from the locals there than at any other London game that I have been to at the Stoop, Crystal Palace, Barnet, Charlton or Fulham.

My mate wants them to relocate to Brighton. They've got a nice shiny 30,000 capacity stadium and a trip to the south coast is more attractive than darkest Medway, and it's a similar journey time on the train from London. Make it happen!

I'm up for that too

An enjoyable day out although far too one sided to really impress my neutral mate watching his first game of league. But great to see the team really click and run in non stop tries albeit against woeful opposition. The club bar was fairly lively afterwards, and having the World Cup trophy there was a nice touch. Good to meet Ganson's Optician on the train back to London, as well Carvell and Tyrone at Gillingham station on their way to see the Roses! Good lads.

We some how ended up walking to Mornington Crescent, wherever that is!
