Agreed - seems strange that she would be happy to go and live in Oz for 3 or 4 years, or stranger still that she would stay here and let her fella move there - especially as she is at the height of her career over here, just starting a new deal with countryfile and things like that...............

| Quote LoyalFan="LoyalFan"Most Warrington fans seemed happy enough when he touted Myler to Warrington while he was still a Salford player under contract. He did everything he could to get Myler away from Salford to Warringon. Yes I understand that we couldn't have kept Myler at Salford, but his tactics and approach to how he worked were selfish and tactless. Warrington were happy to allow him to work like this... And we lost out because of it. Personally... I'd love to see the Warrington club get exploited in the same spineless way that Salford were... Because it doesn't feel very nice when you know you haven't got a chance of keeping a top player due to Martins greedy tactics. If he sees a way of getting his cut... He will go for the throat... I really Warrington lose out on this because maybe next time you won't be so happy to sign a player this way.'"
Two little things. You forgot to mention the manner in which Salford got him from Widnes. Secondly, you also conveniently forgot to mention the big fat fee that we gave you that helped keep your club afloat.

| I will be very surprised if an Australian club goes for one of our half backs.
But if he leaves, good luck to him

| We need to change our tactics. It's no use signing up future stars as the Oz clubs will simply tempt them away for more money. We need to pack the side out with average players that nobody else want's. We could start by bringing in Ryan Bailey and Kevin Sinfield.

The only way he'll get into an Australian side is as a water carrier.

I knew I would come accross somebody who would be uneducated enough to drop that one in. Myler left Widnes and signed for Salford because the couldn't pay him... it's that simple. There was nothing untoward. They had no money and he was free to leave.
As for the fee... that was pretty much a token payment... It was no big deal. It wasn't the money that was the issue, it was the way the deal was done that hurt.

When you make a post concerning the education (or lack of it) of another, ensure you get the posting right, otherwise you could find yourself being ridiculed.
The deal was done in no particular way. Had it been an illegal approach then Salford could easily have reported Warrington.
To say the fee was a token payment is just ridiculous. It was a big fee and Salford needed the money.

We know it wasn't an illegal approach. Salford offered Myler a good deal... possibly the best we have ever offered a young player. He was urged by Offiah to move to Warrington... that way... Offiah gets a bigger wedge. As his agent, he's only interested in what he can get out of the deal... not what his player gets. The better deal for Offiah was to shift him to Warrington. It was his tactics that he used which were a kick in the doo-dahs.... He will do this again... so the point is that Warrington shouldn't come along crying that they are hard done to... when they were happy to get the smooth side of the Myler deal... and are now likely to get the rough end should he move on.
Salford have always needed money... but we offered him a deal that was large enough to suggest that money wasn't the issue here. As Salford fans, we still don't know what happened to the Myler money, and it's become a bit of a joke around our parts.... So to say it saved us is something that even we don't know... so I'm not sure how you make that assumption.
