My view too.

No no no he was throwing wayward passes and being crap in defence last year...he is the last thing we need throwing in the mix at the minute.

| I'd say we miss Matt King quite a bit, due to his shear size it was like having an extra forward driving the ball away from our own line, he made quite a few yards plus it that gave the forwards a breather.
Also his defence was very under rated, he hit hard and strong. The combination of Atkins and King on that left hand side was a powerful one. We don't really have the high kick option to our left as neither Chris Riley or Ryan Atkins will be anywhere near as good as Matt King was in the air.
We deffo miss Louis Anderson's aggression and strong running on the fringes, i'm sure Trent Waterhouse will get better once he settles over here, you don't become a fairly regular test and origin player without having something about you.

| We miss Matt King's offensive qualities, that's for sure. But give Trent a bit of time.
We are missing another forward for me. With Ben Harrison out long term, Benny Westwood missing on Friday, no Solomona (not at his best at the end of last season granted), the drive in the tackle is fading with Mozza, Woddy seems to hae stopped that excellent sprint hard into a tackle drive he's had over the mast few years, and the drive forward that Louis gave us (he was always excellent in the big games)...all means we are a little thin on the ground in the forwards for me.
Chris Hill looks quite good so far, Trent's D is very good, but I feel we've not got a real tackle buster/line breaker in the forwards (we're offloading when we're being gripped tight in tackles, not when we're getting our arms free or busting through). This may be down to form and hopefully Benny will give us some back when he returns this week!

| Interesting to compare how we have started this season without King compared to how we started last season without King. Last year he was taken off injured in the first game of the season and didn't come back till round 12.
After 9 games last year we had won 6, lost 3; after 9 games this year we have won 6, lost 2, drawn 1, so we are a point better off, also we have had a hard start to the season this year and beaten Wigan and the table toppers Huddersfield so encouraging signs that we have adapted better without King than we did last year.

The Shaun Wane Wigan so far doesn't look anywhere near the same force as the Michael Maguire coached Wigan, they have also lost Hoffman and Coley from last season which so far look to be very big losses.
Huddersfield as you know are very hit and miss, its hard to know which Huddersfield will turn up at times, they were awful when we beat them, we wasn't much better ourselves, it was our goal line defence that won us that game as we still made a lot of errors with ball in hand.
Last year we hammered Leeds away, this year we came up against a Leeds side that didn't play well at all, again we wern't very convincing ourselves and lost the game.
We were also fortunate to get past Wakefield and to some extent Bradford, we didn't play well against Hull KR either.
I'm not so sure its been a hard start, its just we have made it very hard for ourselves due to the rugby we are playing, were not fluent yet, were full of errors and we don't look to have much cohesian.
Both the Wigan and Wakefield games were in the balance, both could have quite easily have gone the other way and the picture would be a lot different, we got the points but our league position at the min isn't really a true picture of the standard of rugby we are playing, we could quite easily have had 2 more losses to our name.

Huddersfield have won 7, lost 2, top of the league, and the highest points scorers in the league.

I was hoping for Waterhouse to step up on Friday with Benny missing, but dont think he did. Benny will run up the middle all day long, can't think of a time that Trent did that, he seemed to be stuck out on the left all night.

| Waterthouse was probably not expecting to be defending all game !! When we start respecting possession and completing sets, we will be spending less time defending. Only then will we see the real Waterhouse.
