Quote Paul Youane="Paul Youane"After watching the match again I've gone for Myler.
Stood up to be counted in defence, supported the ball carriers well and poached a try but best of all his long passing as part of the "Monaghan to Myler to Briers to Hodgson to [[iinsert name of try-scorer here[/i" link-up play was top drawer.
No doubt he'll still be considered "over-rated/not rated" by opposition fans but it's time that our own support at least realise that there is so much more to his game than just being a support player.
He currently sits as joint top try scorer in Super league and in the top ten for assists and for clean breaks. At the tender age of 20 if he conmtinues like this he's a shoe-in for young player of the year.
Well done Richie - you'll get your Challenge Cup medal this year.'"
Agree entirely.
Almost difficult to articulate accurately how much he has improved. He's everywhere at the minute and has really got himself involved. I've been really impressed with him this season.
Also, as an aside - I think if there was any doubts about him as an individual, they've now gone. He's dealt with a lot in the last year. Being left out of the CC Final team, then Smith leaving him out and being fairly public about the reasons why he didn't merit being in the side. Then the off season - lots of rumours about him going here there & everywhere which must have been destabilising to a young lad, well, he's just answered all of this in the best possible way, he's worked hard, looked himself in the mirror and made the required improvements to his game which must have happened on the back of hard work and you can't help but be delighted for him. It could have gone two ways I guess and it's full credit too him for which way he chose to deal with the disappointment.
